af, well done. had a little peep yesterday but didn't have a dip. you do realise it is not tolerated on here mentioning other shares, especially if they are profitable ,

if mc believes our value to be £1 perhaps he should cease issuing warrants or options at such low prices. imv they should be an incentive to raise the sp not a reward for overseeing sp destruction . It says either that they don't expect the huge re rate that some here do , or that this is a game stacked against small lt holders.

simms, I too am interested on when our mine will commence commercial production. do you mean we are close to knowing?or close to production? Save to say it will be no where near mellons prediction of 100 k this year and 150 next year. It is worrying when your largest holder and director has no clue. how many shares do you expect to be in issue when cnr could pay this massive dividend. inflation is high so the only guarantee is that aisc will grow even before production. no guarantees on pog though.
e l, you have just hit on my point . we may be hamstrung by mc self interest i.e. his bonus. part of the problem here imv has been that cnr was always aiming towards sale rather than production . yes £1 would be great for me but is it realistic. agree totally , buying when sentiment is low is better than buying at 50p . I have added a few sub 30 p and will add some more if we go lower or I have a result elsewhere and agree we could be over 40 p fairly quickly with toll news or financing.just depends if we need another placing before that. but £1 anytime this year is extremely unlikely imv.

e l, I think it is perhaps a mistake to think that the mill is the only long lead item. I believe mc stated a year lead time for mill . I don t believe simply having the mill knocks a year off of construction. Hell , most here thought it was only going to take a year anyway so how does that figure? construction for us should be quicker than sabina though.
jurisdiction obviously has a say in m cap and finance. geo political situation in Nicaragua is getting more complicated. the array of arrested opponents are now being sentenced and independent universities taken over. ortega getting more belligerent towards usa and closer ties to china , us and eu furthering sanctions. the risk factor for banks has increased somewhat in the last couple of years I would say.
between 50p and 30p was the last dilution at 36p and a bad market generally. I think there is a good probability of another placing around April to keep lights on until funding of build. I cannot see why mellon wouldn't swap cnr paper for calibre paper. would automatically be holding shares in a cash producing company with a lot of growth potential and less risk. £1 a share is mc magical number for his bonus but a long long way off in my book. He has been trotting out for years now as his valuation, meanwhile there has been a doubling of shares in the last 3 years. £1 gives a m cap of £150 m . going to be some time before seeing that m cap and that is without factoring in further dilution , warrants ,options. seems to me that we are maybe somewhat hamstrung by mc brucie bonus .

their aim is production similar to calibre , calibre are debt free and $100m cash but sabina have a m cap not too much below calibre. jurisdictional difference I guess.

happy for a cnr takeout by calibre around 50p if the calibre sp stayed low. not fussed about mc getting his Brucie bonus tbh and think calibre would progress la India better .

blondee , mustn't mention crypto cos you never owned a single one , lol. just had a big drop, which is a good buy op just like gold miners . all crypto miners have to do is produce their own power so move to areas that this can be done. That is what is happening. geothermal, solar etc. bit hard to do that with gold though. crypto miners are keeping hold of their bitcoin , wonder why they do this . horses were the main form of transport for thousands of years too. they are not extinct , they just have a different use now . In case you haven't noticed, the world has been in chaos the last couple of years. central banks have been printing confetti and oddly enough crypto has had a stellar couple of years. heres schiffs gold prediction from 2020 similar to his jan 2020. march 2020 bitcoin hit $4000 . its now crashed to $40,000. gold predictions are a bit like daily mail snow forecasts , hopefully ,sooner or later they will come true. lets hope this is the year of pog steep rise because if it doesn't happen this year it isn't likely to happen later imv. However only needs to go to$2k to make a big difference to producers.

you mention rising costs, fuel and energy is the main expense of conventional mining along with labour costs. what happens if these costs continue to rise but gold stays still or drops ? producers are already showing rising aisc.
not wanting contrary opinions is always a mistake for investing. bitcoin is being used more and more for similar reasons as gold. you cannot spend your gold through cube or PayPal though. you can stake crypto for good returns or borrow fiat and settle either in fiat or if your crypto has risen with part of your stake. for every peter schiff there is another michael saylor or alex mashinsky with a different view. my point is that things are not the same as the 70 s and bitcoin is in a similar space to gold in some ways which will temper gold going stratospheric. I don't think binary and like to cover most bases. I am hopeful for my goldies this year but not overly impressed with the unpredictability of its cycles so will look to de risk most if the opportunity arises. good luck with your investing.

rob, for sure real inflation is more like 15% . should generally factor in 10% for inflation for investment purposes which means an investment needs to double every ten years just to tread water. I don't think the situation is the same as the seventies and interest hikes may keep gold price back but can see $2k being feasible. personally more bullish on crypto. Right now bitcoin is being added to company balance sheets .kpmg being a recent addition. we will see more countries this year making it legal tender.
interest rates were very high in uk throughout the eighties well into the nineties but it took twenty five years to re reach its 1980 peak around $780 and is little over double now 40 years later just to put it in perspective. solana is up 1300% in the last year even after dropping 50% from its peak. bitcoin and other cryptos will continue to attract more investment from various sectors but there will always be a market for gold too . I am in both . been adding producers mainly over the last few months and crypto on recent correction.

simms, you keep making the same mistake of over expecting imv. 12-16 months from now we will be lucky to see first pour let alone commercial production. their figures are based on 150 oz. further away again . all this supposes that there are no problems , that aisc don't rise and gold rises and no supply chain problems. An awful lot of ducks. so £1.84 when producing 150k oz and debt free yet peeps here seem to think we will be valued £1 in the short term and multi ££s in 2018 when permits were granted. sub 30p with a realistic price target of 50/60p this year for me.
condor question, yep , been stating the obvious on here since 2018. The consensus was 100m shares and into production last year . mostly down to over optimistic posters more than mc . oh except our largest holder who not long ago reckoned 100 k oz this year ,150 k oz next . Absolutely best to use common sense on timeframes. mc stated we are funded up to bfs so anyones guesss what happens in april but I know what I am expecting.

ccc. you got to be in it to win it but what price you are in it at can dictate if you win it. personally I like to buy as low as possible to give me a chance to win it so selling at 40 p or 36p and buying sub 30 p gives a good opportunity to grow shareholding without constantly burying more cash in something that thus far is winning f all . I have sympathy for peeps that have listened to over optimistic posting on here and bought more at higher prices expecting they were innit to win it imminently only to be looking at 30 p.

c f , wouldn't argue with you figures and agree mako overpriced and calibre underpriced. imv commercial production is at least 2 years away so agree with you and don't see £1 likely soon unless gold goes parabolic but £1 plus in production yes quite possible. 50-60p is do- able this year imv , which wouldn't be bad from 30p. personally havnt written off the toll possibility and could be a good short term driver of sp before funding.
I swapped a bit over to calibre in dec so toll deal please. I like their progress and see them as a take out in a few years . been checking out gran colombia after being mentioned on here . liking the look of them and worth a punt I think

simms, I think the haulage would be on contract , which is why he can quote a specific price. I imagine the drivers to be for on site work. they will need drivers from the get go and need to start stockpiling ore even without a toll deal and clearance. calibre have their transport costs in year ends. can't remember offhand what they were though.

simms, calibre are soon to be a 2500k oz producer and have a m cap of around £300m with around $80m in cash . cnr have around 150m shares currently not including warrants and options outstanding. £ 1 a share would give a m cap of £150m before even funding construction and a coulee of years still from production. £1 per share anytime soon sounds as ot of touch as mellons guesstimate of 100 k oz production this year and 150 k oz next year.
personally , I will not be surprised to see another fundraise before the funding.toll deal extremely important and for sure would help lift the sp but presently it looks to be heading south . I was encouraged by mc comments regarding a toll a couple of interviews ago so just have to suck it and see. I think quite possibly part of the issue may have been cnr not actually being as far along the road as they thought 3 years ago as many should realise since most here were expecting to be in production long since. It is fairly obvious that mc has had little idea on timescales for years but as we know , every extra year accounts for another dilution of around 30% for the last 3 or 4 years.
lets hope the toll deal is agreed soon.It can only be good news .

e l, my idea of a store of value is an asset that outpaces inflation, thus far bitcoin has done this spectacularly. use a decade then , cnr sp is worth a fraction of what it was ten years ago , even forgetting about inflation. you obviously wouldn't like to view the 10 year chart for bitcoin. if you look at the charts for microsoft ,apple, amazon etc that is the likely parallel for certain cryptos imv. there are plenty that will wither just like there are in the mining sector and tech sector.
yes my idea on timescales differ from you and many here. like the predicted timescale for production. most predicted production before the recent elections and 100 - 120 m shares in issue .
so, 4 decades, gold price hit $720 peak in Aug 1980, finally bottomed Nov 2000, 20 years later at around $ 260 and only regained its 1980 peak in 2008 . Its now around $1840 . That is not a great store of value over 40 years when real inflation is around 10% a year giving a devaluation in real terms of 400% which is considerably more than the appreciation in the gold price which is around 250% by my rudimentary maths for that period.
bitcoin has re traced less than 50 % over the last 3 months , and is still in positive territory for the year, not many goldies that can claim that.
I am heavy in goldies and crypto so no particular axe to grind and can have a balanced view . hoping both will do well over the next couple of years however I am in my fifties so not really wanting to look 50 years in the future . crypto is happening fast now but still early days and I think in 5 years time, which is nothing to a cnr investor many will realise they were slow on the uptake just as I feel thinking back when I was offered payment for a job in bitcoin when it was $700 a pop by a friend of mine that I missed a great opportunity considering even now after a 40% retracement its around $37k . it maybe a matter for debate but thus far seems to be winning the debate to me. bitcoin is successful because of its very limited supply which is one of the reasons your cnr shares are worth a fraction of 10 years ago , because of the amount of shares issued since, particularly the last 5 years
personally hoping for a bigger re trace in in crypto and shares including cnr. I prefer to buy when things are hammered . gives you a fighting chance.

e l, agree it is a sell all situation like march 2020 , the only thing different is the gold price hasn't tanked. car has fared pretty well today considering.
bargains galore now. simms, as regards bitcoin, it isn't a safe haven but it is a store of value . gold is a safe haven but not such a great store of value. gold price is not much more than double its early eighties peak. when bitcoin hit $4 k in march 2020 it was a screaming buy . I am looking to buy crypto and shares very soon. I see a 50 -60 % correction for bitcoin . Different kettle of fish for some others but just watch for the re bound in a couple of months or earlier . I see a bottom in the next month and some nice gains going in to spring.
some good tech stocks getting hammered too imv. adding some more shop, cube, micro strategy and possibly dip my toe in with tesla e l . lol. ;0

noel, its not actually been too hard to predict drops here. I still think sub 30 p is possible yet depending on developments. what I am more interested in is making some profit so how about you give some predictions for that whether here or elsewhere. can then judge your credibility as a sage of investing.

kkk, yes calibre dropped back . just closed up over 10% though with the gold price spike. f m up around 12%. most pond side producers up 8-10%. remains to be seen how long the gold spike goes. perfect storm atm with ukraine adding to things. hoping to see my producers in the blue soon. Be an interesting couple of days. gold is safe haven material.
I noted that the nicaraguan mining co is on latest us sanction list. Nicaragua getting closer to china, iran, Russia etc . lets hope the land issue is a non event!

kemot, their m caps may move quicker than their sp . stuart moller who led the exploration of buritica is also with fenix oro and very close so it could be that they will be more successful who knows. with joint ventures now being sought it will only be a matter of time before we see the start of raising , just remains to be seen how they pan out. it is moot whether we get bought out early or not but the project is 10 years from gold and the early years tend to be the most productive in explorers in regard to sp. I agree that having the funding covered is good . do you think that fenix oro will have higher costs than omi , if so why? truth is there is no defined resource so no aisc so you are stabbing in the dark with both, however gcm have an established resource , production and aisc . very few here define how they come up with their fantasy share prices. apart from using ggp. gran colombia are producing 200k gold and silver have great grades and another project and pay dividends so when I see peeps posting share price forecasts of £1 for 25% of a just starting project and I compare it to g colombia it just doesn't stack up for me. i think it fairly unlikely that fenix and omi aisc will be too different and expect that omi will probably refer to buritica aisc until a pfs is produced. I am not saying that you can directly compare these projects but it doesn't make sense to imagine that just having a major drilling and taking 75% of the project makes it worth £100 m when there is a project very close turning up excellent grades with a m cap of £13m . perhaps fenix is for sure worth a punt. personally I think 20 p is probably a decent valuation that we can attain in the short term .
Dr , not saying m cap of £100 m isn't attainable at some point and that would be life changing for me too but there is a lot of road to run for that imv. you haven't given me examples of latin american explorers with no defined resource with a m cap of £100m ? I certainly will sell some on spikes and re buy. thought about letting some go at 16 p but hoped for a bit more legs and missed the boat. for me its simple, buy when its low sell on spike ,re buy when its low ,increase holding without having to keep risking more capital.
anyhow, I have my quota here unless we dip to 10 p again so hoping I am too conservative in my expectations. I am far from negative for omi but just think that some bandy around unqualified share price predictions.

dr, could you give me some examples of gold explorers not producing in latin america with m caps over £100m let alone with 25% of an asset. I can think of a number of 100 k oz heading to production with this kind of m cap;
fenix orro, m cap £13 m, outcrop £13m and baroyeca £17 m, in colombia all have m caps well below ours . maybe worth spreading a bit in each of these .
i hold calibre soon to begin Nicaragua and us, soon to be 250 k oz pa , 18 rigs turning $90 m in cash, little over £ 300m and they fully own their assets.
I also hold a number of 60 - 120 k oz producers with m caps between £ 80-130 m debt free.
OMI is just about my largest holding , partly because I bought most below 4 p and will see a life changing event with further gains but I have been in this game for a long time and seen quick gains disappear , never to be achieved again so am more cautious than some here but still nicely in profit and hopeful for twenties this year. what surprises me is how so many posters wait for a spike then attempt to buy, complaining of not being able to buy. I havnt experienced many issues but then don't buy after or during a spike. would suggest a look at our peers in colombia because if our assets do hit big the likelihood is fenix and baroyeca will follow, or surpass possibly.
anyhow , looks like a bit more topping up opportunity available. get lucky
