itisagame - if you add up the costs of all the wars that the US has been involved in it comes to about 20 trillion dollars which is exactly the amount of US debt ! Perhaps if we all stopped fighting each other and spent the money on our own people we could cut down on the number of our citizens living at or below the poverty line - 20% of our population - 13 million people in poverty !

But our politicians are still giving away £14 billion a year in overseas aid - top recipient Pakistan - which has its own nuclear arsenal and its own space programme ! And it can find £10 billion for aircraft carriers and £100 billion on a crazy HS train set.

I think that when politicians enter Parliament they must have their brains removed

The "experts" are saying that a Recession is imminent - the Yankee SM is much too high - Trump trade war with the world and dithering Mrs May on BREXIT will tip us all back into a slump. However - although they say banks oil and gas and mining will take a big hit they also say that Pharmaceuticals and medicine companies will do well !

If you can believe so called experts !

The 124K share buy yesterday at £13,5K was mine - flipped a coin and went for boom rather than bust

Tomie - the elephant in the room is that the BOD may well issue lots more shares at discount prices to bring in cheap cash flow. Many AIM companies have 3 to 5 Billion shares in issue and the SP is less than 10p. In 2010 I sold my LLOY shares at 130p when the BOD announced a 100% new shares offer. The SP dropped to 65p and is today at 62p ! Share dilution is a killer

Eish - I am a roonek - but believe the motto "Eendrag maak mag" (unity through strength). My dad was in the RAF and just after WW2 was posted to Rhodesia and I went to school at Bulawayo (the place of the killings) I have spent much of my life in foreign countries - serving in the RAF etc - and the more I see of other people the more I think that the great mass of people in the world are just about the same in nature - it is only politicians that screw up the world - as Trump and May are doing now ! What a wonderful place the world would be if we got rid of all politicians. As Groucho Marx said "How can you tell if a politician is lying to you - watch his (or her) lips - if they are moving he (or she) is lying to you !"

Good Morning Avizandum1 - the early bird catches the worm ! I am always awake about this time and it gives me the opportunity to read up all the early news - world and home - and get me in the right mindset for the day. I expect the usual SP moves today - up and down and up again at early doors but am hoping for another good rise at close of play today. A bit disappointed that we did not hold the 140p level yesterday but with sells at about two times buys I was not surprised that we went back down to 124p. But with the shares at over 800p a few months ago we have lots of headroom to climb up again IMO.

Another good day overall - roller coaster ride but 23% up today is an excellent result. Hopefully Thursday and Friday will push the SP up further - any gain is good IMO

ahk9 - I hope that is not £2 in old coins - about half of the old coins (170 million) have not been handed back to the Banks for recycling ! Strange world we live in !

My thanks to the BB subscribers whose posts attracted my attention at 0900 hrs - back from walking the dog - I managed to get a good bunch of shares at 118p and am very happy with the way the SP is motoring upwards. With very few shares in the market and a tight spread on buy/sell and the excellent fundamentals of the company this is proving to be one of those "shares of a lifetime". Profit takers will pull down the SP temporarily but it has enough energy to keep bouncing back up IMO.
