I am new to FARN - but have been looking at jumping in and today bought £20k at 118p - great rise today (again) and lots more to come. Reminds me of my buy into UKOG last year - bought at 1.8p sold at 8.5p for a £43k profit. I thought UKOG last year was a once in a lifetime super buy but it looks like FARN this year will overtake the UKOK achievement.

TY Rastuss - re-reading the RNS it does say elsewhere - several times "subject to the feasibility study" So i am being selfish and hope the deal collapses and hot money rushes back into KAZ - LOL

Eish - roller coaster ride from now till after March 2019 BREXIT - looks like no deal in October as "our friends on the mainland" are not giving an inch in return for the £39 billion +++ that May is offering - Barnier says "This is just the start - Mrs may has promised to pay all the costs of relocation of EU organisations - with no promise of a trade deal.

If no deal in October I think we will see a market crash and another one in April as we walk away from the EU.

Latest finance news is that BREXIT is forecast to cost the UK economy £600 billion but cost the EU countries £900 billion. If you believe forecasters who have been wrong on 95% of their forecasts !

As the old salt said "Best to just sit in the stern of the rowing boat and go up and down with the tide !"

Rastuss - in the RNS 5958W dated 2 August under "Project Budget" it says ---- pre-feasibility complete -------- costs will be further reviewed during the feasibility study"

From which I infer that if the ongoing feasibility study finds that the project is not feasible then it will be re-negotiated or cancelled - just my reading of the RNS - although it starts out indicating that the deal is done - it then goes on to stipulate possible obstacles to the deal being completed

Rastuss - re-reading the RNS it seems to say that if the feasibility study is adverse then the project will be binned. No cash or shares to be given before H1 2019 - so the present big SP drop is totally unjustified - all bets are off till the "fat lady sings". When the brokers realise that nothing has really changed in the fundamentals of KAZ they may well move the SP back up to at least the 800p mark. the 16 August may provide the spark to send the SP much higher

Return of the Fox - The SP is presently 46% down on 2 months ago and 30% down on the recent 850p level. No businessman in his right mind would now sign up to a share offering at 823p when the sharet has crashed so much in such a short time - unless there is a lot of money laundering et al going on - would you take Venezuelan cash or Zimbabwean dollars for your car right now ?

The BOD needs to issue a holding RNS - even if it just says that all will be revealed on 16 August and there is no real justification for the massive drop in SP.

The BOD of KAZ and the Vendor and the Russian Oligarchs will all be in deep discussion now about the T&C of the new purchase. The agreement was for 2 times 5% of new KAZ shares at a price of 823p plus a cash payment. However - as the SP is now at about 600p the Vendor will ask for extra cash to make up the shortfall in share value - the KAZ BOD may well offer 20% more shares or agree to 20% more cash. If they do then the SP will drop hard again.

The only sensible course now is to put the project on hold or cancel it till the KAZ SP recovers. The BOD should be concentrating on paydown of the $2.2 billion debt rather than rush into another billion expenditure !

It will be interesting to see which way the BOD jumps in the near future. neither IIs nor PIS will be pleased to see no action from the BOD.

we seem to have a glass ceiling on the SP at 600p - once we break through that we will be well plced for a major rise in SP IMO. We need a trigger to start the rise and we may well get that on 16 August with the latest results and more info on the new project. The SP will only drop back down to the 500p level if we get another bad RNS

The multi million shares being allocated to the new project are being valued at $10.71 or £8.23. KAZ BOD is obviously very confident that the SP will soon rise above £8.23 or the vendor would not be interested in KAZ shares at such a high value. The RNS says cash and share payments will begin in 2018.

I will be holding tight to £25K of KAZ shares at a SP average of 606p and expect to see a major rise for the rest of this year.

Before I buy shares in a company I look at the following key points

1. Buy and sell spread - KAZ is very tight at 0.10% so no great trading loss buying and selling and brokers are happy to trade

2. Number of shares in issue - KAZ has 447M in issue which is very manageable - lots of much smaller companies have 3 to 5 Billion shares in issue

3. 52 week high 1102 and low of 570 - KAZ has lots of headroom to rise - barring any other SP destructive moves by the BOD

4. Number of traders - KAZ had 9078 trades on Friday - which is a very healthy number

5. P/E ratio - KAZ has 8,19 - which is again a very healthy ratio

During my working life I was trained as an accountant so I have been perusing the KAZ accounts and the only area of concern is of course the debt level - 2.2 billion going up to about 3.2 billion - but this is only 3 times EBITDA - so it will be manageable - the short term broker reaction is overdone and I look forward to a rising SP over the next few weeks - dependent on more bad news RNS of course

The CEO and BOD must be under severe attack now from all investors over the extreme drop in SP after last week`s RNS on the purchase of Bamskaya - what if next week the BOD publish a retraction and say that - Due to the adverse reactions of shareholders and brokers we have decided not to proceed with the Bamskaya project - What a massive boost that would give to the KAZ share price ! IMO the BOD MUST do something to restore confidence in KAZ - it is only a matter of time.

Sol48 - I think you have hit all the right points in your post today - over the last 50 years of private dealing in the stock market I have hit some very good times and some very bad times - the first time I lost 20% on a "dry well" oil company I was stunned but I quickly found out that a 20% drop in SP on bad news was the minimum that the brokers instantly applied so I accepted that being in the right place at the right time was 95% luck and 5% good judgement. Over the years I have researched all I can about KAZ and agree that the SP has been hit too hard and I expect a good recovery in the next few weeks - fingers crossed. I was out of KAZ last week but bought back in at about 610p on Friday. Looking at the late trades yesterday it appears that multi million £ buys and sells have been going on - so what effect that will have on the opening SP Monday is anyone`s guess. I will be holding until the SP gets back into the 900p ++ range and then decide future investments.

Good steady increase today on the SP - if we can keep the upward momentum going over the next few weeks we will be batting at £10 again in a month`s time.

A share trade of one share has just gone through which some investors say is a signal to brokers to buy lots of shares - I would be pleased to see that prophecy come true today as I bought in today £25K of KAZ shares (in tranches) and now have a 610p average. I have watched KAZ over the years and traded often but have not seen such a large drop in the SP which I believe is unjustified, The fundamentals of the company are good for some time now so hopefully we will return to the ten pound SP in the near future

Cheating robbers

Pokerchips - flat week this week with lots of results coming in - also the BoE rate hike on Thursday - so brokers are holding lots of SPs with not much movement. but I think that brokers are holding "mates` rates" on HOC for a big buyer - the totaliser for trades is about 1 million more than the buys and sells total - so a big buyer is filling his boots IMO. My two buys of £18K and £8K are not being shown that I can see - so brokers are holding back on any good news !

Hopefully we have now reached bottom and the SP will rise especially after the half year report on 15 August - which is forecast to show exceptional improvements over 2017 figures !
