The market mafia are not going to take their feet off the throat of the KAZ SP until they get something positive from the BOD

The ball is in the BOD court - if they fail to kick it the market will continue to mark down the SP

Rastuss - then we all sell out and the company goes the way that other big multi billion companies have gone - bust

I will see how the next 2 weeks go then sell out if no recovery is in sight

HL says that "The overall reaction of all shareholders is that the Russian project is a very bad deal" Can the BOD just ignore all its shareholders ? If so perhaps we need a new BOD

HL says " Liberum has changed its rec from "sell to "hold" Redburn has followed suit stating "a rare value opportunity buying into KAZ" Both say that when the panic subsides and the sellers depart the SP will recover

Renard - I like the look of 600p ! But with metal prices tumbling this year - unless the Sino US talks calm things down a bit - it is anyone`s guess whether we will see a bull or bear market for the next 12 months

I am amazed that our BOD has not seen fit to post a RNS about the 55% drop in SP value in just over 2 months - makes a mockery of their PI to "enhance shareholder value"

It seems that the Feasibility Study on the Russian project will not be complete until the second half of 2019 so the massive SP drop now has indeed been very much overdone IMO - however - it does give any punter with spare cash an ideal entry point - then sit back and watch the roller coaster ride - or the BOD may just shake off all the doubt by re-iterating the present very strong earnings which by H2 2019 should bring in another $1400 M ++ The BOD may well find no takers for a partnership in building a mine in a frozen wasteland far from any port to export the products - which will not be earning cash for many years anyway, But the market hates uncertainty - which is why our SP is being punished. Hopefully Monday will bring a strong rise in the SP and that will encourage lots of new money to come into the company shares - PI and II

Ronin - I have been in and out of KAZ over the last year and am now in for £15k at 480p. Hopefully we have seen the last of the big SP drops and people can start to cut losses or make a bit of profit from now on.

Ronin - TY for that - I am much happier with 1.4 times EBITDA !!! Looking across a few other big miners they are also about the same level.

Pommy - my next door neighbour dug up his lawn and put gravel down and cannot use it now - the cars just sink into the gravel - better to put down concrete or tarmac IMO

Of interest - The half year report gives EBITDA of $690M and debt of $2052M which to me is a ratio of 2.97 But by some smoke and mirrors accounting the report says NET debt is only 1.4 times EBITDA.

KAZ presently has debt of about 3 times EBITDA - which is far too high - so the market and all experienced investors have said that the BOD is reckless in taking on massive amounts of new debt in a gambler`s throw on the Russian brown field site. Like many big companies over the years who have bitten off more than they can chew KAZ is seeing an investor flight. other companies in a similar position have sacked their CEO and some of the BOD and reversed the disastrous new policy. I am holding onto my shares to see whether our CEO and BOD survive or not.

John Paul Getty said "The world is sitting on huge deposits of oil and gas and other minerals but they have no value until you dig them out of the ground and sell them !"

earthling - in the RNS it says "subject to feasibility study" so I take that to mean if it is not feasible they can pull out.

MisterPositive - I said that after the initial drop but no one agreed with me. The whole project is fatally flawed - brown field site in a remote area of Russia with few roads etc - $5,5 billion upfront costs - terrible weather factors - only one road to the export hub about 500 miles away - almost as bad as PMO trying to make the Falklands oil fields into a commercial proposition !

I am sure we have all been in shares which are suddenly beset by rumours of looming disaster and the BOD of the company says nothing ! More often than not they are hiding very bad news and working like mad behind the scenes to offset the bad news with some good news in the next RNS - but once trust is destroyed the company is on the skids - no matter how large the MCAP is. The sooner the KAZ BOD comes clean the better IMO

Retour - this is much more than just finance - the US sees China as a major threat to the world now - expanding its empire in all directions and taking over the South China Sea with new build military islands - also financing a new canal to rival Panama - going through Nicaragua and capable of taking the largest ships in the world (unlike Panama) they are also building a major base near Karachi to dominate the Indian Ocean and investing heavily in African assets

China may end up with an Empire bigger than the old British Empire - the world`s largest to date.
