Thanks - I like the Tech Mins project. I like ADV lots too.

Looking forward to how they both play out, but my real excitement is for SpectrumX (even though I know others have questioned the HOCL, but I don’t see that issue).

Maybe because all companies involved understand then when you drill underground you don’t know what you’re going to expect. Therefore, penalty clauses are pointless.

It’s the same as the building game. If someone quotes for a construction job, there will be exclusions for things they can’t know/plan for.

I have no problem with trading - I have traded some others too and dipped in and out to bank gains. My irritation is the unrealistic posts in terms of demanding timescales for the rig without understanding what happens.
I understand genuine frustration with lack of comms - I’m a holder in WSBN and we’re overdue results from the survey (due early Oct), yet nothing. Now, that is frustrating. Whereas LP/ADV have been true to their word and still people seem to want to *****. Just odd to me.

I think we can tell the difference between traders and investors.

I’m like you - I invested on the fundamentals of the project. The 95% COS for the drill and 85% COS for production (albeit, I believe that 85% is higher now). Yes, the drill has slipped but not for any reasons attributable to ADV. It’s purely how O&G works. If the rig is on a job and that job overruns, then it will stay there until it’s complete.

The same happens on the ADV drill - if it takes 45 days and not 30-35 (as originally touted, but I know that’s been reduced to 20 now!), then the drill will stay here and be late leaving to its next job (assuming it is going onto another one). How would the investors here feel if the rig left as the estimated time ran out - doh!

All this bleating about delays FFS. Try to learn a little bit about the industry you are investing in.

People demanding to be told this or that - jeez. The company has clearly got a plan, has stuck to it and is close to delivering the first stage of its medium-term plan to become a mid-sized company, yet people worry about 2-3 days of rig announcement.

Yep, ENSO impacts the pacific hugely but also impacts the rest of the world. There’s so much about the climate which is unknown, so when I hear claims of ‘settled scirnce’ I convert those words to ‘close down debate’ haha

Been watching this since if was over £1 and am amazed it's dropped so low. Not invested yet - will take some from the other one and move here just to diversify a bit. Just waiting for the next leg-up there, as it seems imminent with rig news and presentation. Just hope this stays subdued for rest of this week. DBD put me onto this.

The drought will be linked to La Nina conditions in area 3.4 of the Pacific. It's a normal event and (contrary to whatever scare headlines get put in the media) is entirely natural. Is was predicted that the rains may not come if La Nina conditions occurred.

This shows a history of El Nino/La Nina - the La Nina's cool the planet and El Nino's warm, but they also impact trade winds, hence weather patterns. You can see that the 1970's were high in La Ninas (and that's when we had the scare stories of Ice Ages). The end of the 20th century, there were more El Ninos and more warming. I guess that's purely a coincidence lol.

But, this is not good for the poor people impacted by it that's for sure. Living hand-to-mouth and nothing to sustain in times of hardship.

Rig news is imminent - this will surely push the SP up to some extent (fools game to make predictions as to what level IMO), but once it move with the drill being such a short timescale, the momentum will keep it higher.

I woujldn’t be waiting until next week that’s for sure (not that I have been as I’ve taken all I can) :).

Thanks - I was lucky to get the recommendations for both from other BBs. I took small stakes in both and traded ZPHR a bit on spikes and then bought back in. I know some people don’t like cross-ramping, but it’s useful (when it’s genuine of course).
Not as big a stake in ZPHR as ADV - only found out about it after there had already been large gains so exercised more caution there.

I do like TXP as a long-term play and would suggest it’s one to add to your watchlist. Lot’s more exploration to be done and off-take agreements in place for O&G which should be coming on stream once pipelines are completed (which they aren’t responsible for). Also some of the exploration has a lot of potential upside. I was lucky buy in about 86p, but have sold out for now.

I was in TXP - sold out earlier this week after the news and moved the funds here. I will eventually take some of the gains from here and buy back in to TXP. I like both companies.
Also I’m in ZPHR and good news there today too :)
