RE: New WHO Solidarity trial with I.V Interferon?8 Dec 2020 06:50
The patent protects Faron for using IFN Beta1a in I/V delivery to treat ARDS and other vascular diseases .
Blurb -
The patent further protects Faron's final FP-1201-lyo (lyophilised interferon-beta or Traumakine®) formulation for the intravenous treatment of acute respiratory distress syndrome ("ARDS") and other vascular diseases.
The more I think about the WHO Solidarity trial , the more I believe that the direction many of these trials have taken this year ( and not just concerning us ) , have been directed and controlled by the powers of Big Pharma .
Its just how the world works . If you were a multi billion dollar company , with influence , your plate is going to be at the front of the queue . If your IFN Beta treatment ( Merck ) has a slight chance of getting some positive result - the ensuing profits will be gargantuan . Surely , you would use all your influence to make sure a minor player with a possibly more effective delivery would be kept out of the race until you had secured a winning position .
Why else do we see repeated trials for Remdesivir , Hydroxychloroquine etc .
The good news ( for the likes of us and SNG ) is that now the big boys have used this year tying up trial space with their repurposed therapies , and come up short , the smaller guys will now finally get their chance .
The cases , despite vaccines , will keep rising , in my opinion for years across the globe .
Its a real shame we didn't get included and verified this year , but at least it has given us a chance to build up manufacturing know how and capacity etc .
