With Fast track , the company will have better communications with FDA , expect recent ACE2 info etc will have been added to the conversations . Things will start rolling a lot faster now . I had been trading a few % of my shares here , but now we are approaching the placing price - I will just sit back and enjoy . The drugs approved so far for Covid use have been based on far lower success rates than SNG001 has shown so far . It will take a pretty strange turn of events now for this drug not to be approved in good time .

I'm enjoying the SNG story , but we'll get some Clevegen news shortly , and it should be good judging by Markkus upbeat appearance the other day .
I can't really blame him for the Traumakine timeline , he's being held up by FDA at the moment .

At least with Clevegen , we have no outside interference / screw ups etc . And its all looking very promising.

From the BBC report - If the results are anywhere near as good as in the earlier trial, they expect authorisation for the drug to be used in patients in the UK and other countries to follow shortly afterwards.

If anyone hasn't heard of this treatment - ( my family hadn't nor most people I've met ) - they probably will in the next day or so .

Over at Faron they have been championing the use of IFN Beta1a in seriously ill patients , albeit just not with steroids at the same time . SNG seems to have the better and bigger customer base , but my opinion is both the nebulised and Intravenous use of Interferons will get proven to be valid .

The more ammo we get supporting Interferon ( regardless of delivery method ) the better chance we have of moving up the pecking order in these trials .
I was thinking today about REMAP - great he thinks we still have data to come from them , and maybe we do , but then I remembered it was a pre-recorded presentation , so maybe he did it before the latest REMAP findings . Either way - we are still there in REMAP , and surely if we haven't had many patients yet , with the other two drugs now proven ( weakly) maybe we get pushed a bit more , and allocated to patients before they've had a steroid dosing .

Starting to get information overload now - another Interferon related article published today - citing Interferons as being a valid treatment .

Picked this update from the Synairgen board - where Southampton scientists have made new discovery about ACE" proteins .

Relating to the use of Interferons against Covid - there has been a concern that they would promote these proteins at the cell surface which would normally encourage viral transmission , but apparently Interferons promote a novel short form of this ACE2 , which does not facilitate viral infection .
This would apply to any viral infection like the flu too.
I haven't read the whole thing and I'm not a scientist , so I could be getting this wrong , but to me it sounds like an endorsement that Interferons are a valid treatment .

This certainly might explain the 12-14% sharp rise in SNG SP this afternoon - and maybe the slight rise and large volume over in Finland with us ?

Have been watching this stock for a while . Thought I may have missed the boat over Christmas - but hopefully good timing now to get onboard . I did own some shares briefly last year at about 50p for a few days , but for some reason didn't keep them . Should have just left them there - never mind - second time lucky !

Markku has stated that four of the 10 cohorts are at the point where they now qualify for the phase 3 trial stage
He says they are extremely excited .
He does seem very upbeat .
The patients they are treating are ones that have had 6 or 7 different treatments already - yet they are seeing response from them .

Not expecting any revelations today - but things are happening - fingers crossed .

According to the reply I got from REMAP - it was the steroids that have knobbled us as always .
Just not enough patients in a non-steroid environment .

Again - no data to prove it works - or doesn't work .

But I agree with Itasall - a waste of time being involved once the dextamethasone got the green light as they evidently pumped that into everyone on arrival by the looks of it .

I never thought we would be chewing over another bodge up - but again it looks like if you want it done properly , you have to do it yourself . No short cuts unless you are a major Pharma .

This is the reply I got from the contact at REMAP last night -

An exclusion criteria of being randomised to interferon Beta is the use of systemic corticosteroids.
It is now normal standard of care to administer dexamethasone to all ICU patients, this therefore limited the number of patients being randomised to interferon beta.

So although there were 69 patients not on the main two studies - it doesn't appear that we have got much of a look in .

Pretty grim reading ( regarding patient deaths )

800 approx patients
350 on Tocilizumab - of which 98 died ( 28% )
45 on sarilumab of which 10 died (22%)
397 on control of which 142 died ( 35% )

So they both proved themselves better than control

Sad that still nearly 1 in 3 dies !

So not exactly a silver bullet - plenty of room left for other therapies thats for sure

I've emailed them again asking what data has been collected for Interferon beta , and when we will see it .
