The CARES act is huge by all accounts - £2.2 trillion stimulus bill , covering alot of stuff . The biggest stimulus yet .

The US military budgets are notoriously huge and secretive , and always passed .

So $6 million is a drop in the ocean .

The DoD has selected the phase II/III HIBISCUS study in the States to receive US$6.1mln under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security, or CARES Act.

That act was put into law March 2020 - designed to help the American people .

So I guess it is based on a Coronavirus interest - otherwise how would they be able to justify allocating funding ?

Its either than the DOD is also interested in the Organ failure side , and got funding from CARE Act as it also qualified , or its a backdoor way for the US Govt to get its hands on Traumakine .

Its not like previous grants , ie Business Finland etc where its Fins looking after Fins with their business & science .
This is the US Govt chucking money at a small Finnish Biotech .

I think the Harvard connection has opened a lot of doors for Faron in the US . I mean , this tie up is a bit left field , and almost an additional bonus on top of the original aim of running Hibiscus . It sure has added value , as shown today .

WHO ran subcutaneous Interferon in SOLIDARITY ( like they use for MS ) - that was a fail .
REMAP-CAP - still running with Intravenous Interferon ( Farons drug ) - still ongoing , but low patient numbers as steroids everywhere .
The I/V delivery has been proven to be effective in a previous P3 ( without steroid use at the same time ) - via post hoc analysis . But it needs another P3 trial to get approval .

SNG nebulised showed much better P2 results than Faron - and it works with steroids , and no serious side effects .
Much wider population will be suited to SNG , its a much bigger scenario .

Its a win win - Faron will complement SNG
