Mind you , a year at Faron is a bit of a grey area .
I think we will have blown our cookies if we get to a position where neither Clevegen or Traumakine have a route to market .
That would mean failing multiple times with every cohort on Clevegen ( currently 10 ) , and also failing to produce a result with Traumakine from Hibiscus and REMAP-CAP .
Clevegen has had a great P1 , and P2 studies must have been promising as the company has raised additional funds , signed commercial manufacturing agreements , and rapidly expanded the number of cohorts to be trialed .
I feel despite Covid etc , Traumakine for some reason has had its progress delayed and hampered by external forces , be it bad luck , big pharma , political focus on vaccines over and above therapies or a combination of all of them .
It may also be down to the fact that Faron really wanted the next step with Traumakine to be funded by a third party - and with so many choices for investors to run with , and the goal posts moving so much , it has just taken a lot longer to 'cut a deal' .
Most of the placing funds were earmarked for Clevegen development , and Faron didn't have funds to pursue both like they may have wished . The Clevegen cohort expansion is pretty massive and costly .
So the window for making a deal , hitting that shareholder value jackpot , and moving the trials onwards is here in Q1 2021 .
If any of those 10 cohorts are good , then Faron will hopefully cut a deal with someone . I'm just not sure how they envisage a best case scenario - multiple small deals & liscensing , or a massive one hit if a big pharma wants to run with it all . With all the Presentations Markku is doing , I get the feeling he sees Clevegen being sellable to many different potential partners , as the cancer treatment world is so diverse and specialised , and with 10 different types of solid tumours being targeted , surely it makes sense to explore every option .
Either way - if first results are good - then its just a case of how much and when - things will come good for us one way or another . I'm sure the SP will rerate until a deal is done - so just cash in when you reach your exit price , or hold for long terms gains .
If the first results are aren't good - which I just can't see - then we will have to tuck this share right to the back of the drawer and wait for further cohorts , and what comes out of REMAP and Hibiscus .
