Man's own defense system in the fight against cancer
Last Wednesday, Faron had some good news to tell about the cancer drug Clevegen (you switch to another service). Promising evidence has been obtained from patient studies. However, there is still a long way to go before a marketing authorization can be obtained from the first and second phase studies.
Clevegen seeks to act on cells that lower immunity and thus strengthen the body's own defense system in a cancer patient.
- Patient studies have now proven that this is exactly what is happening. The patients we have treated have no longer had any option for other treatments. They have already gone through several different treatments, but nothing has worked, says Markku Jalkanen.
According to Jalkanen, the outlook for anticancer drugs has improved significantly over the past year and a half. Patients have also tolerated drug therapy well.
The CEO believes Fon’s anticancer drug could be on the market at its fastest in a couple of years.
The trumpet of the short season is buzzing
CEO Markku Jalkanen calls himself a serious researcher. He may present his case very enthusiastically at times, but he doesn’t forget his company slogan: nothing beats good data - nothing beats good information.
No matter how excited Jalkanen is, he stays on the facts, as decisions must be based on reliable information.
That is why he is so emaciated that he has had to notice the widespread suspicion during Donald Trump's presidency. When is it about the information being researched, when is it about plain mouth?
- For me personally, it is the worst disappointment of Trump's reign. Or even more disappointing was to find that the same behavior has spread almost worldwide. As if the facts no longer had any purpose.
According to Markku Jalkanen, so many have registered as experts. He doesn’t stop to wonder where that kind of expertise has suddenly come from.
- It feels like my whole upbringing and education has been thrown in the trash at once. I do my job because I make research findings into medicines for people. These aren’t any hokkuspokkus stuff.
So does Markku Jalkanen see in his own work that the line between the researched information and the so-called bunny speech is blurred?
- That's what happened. Quite a lot.
