RE: Share price.4 Dec 2025 10:11
Levantic - Completely valid points you raise there. Few factors I think may have been combining to have depressed SP here:
1. Chancellor scared some investors into selling parts (or even all) of their share portfolios off. Additionally, UK equities have broadly struggled for a while (USA ones seemingly favoured by many atm) and SSPG won't be immune to the wider 'lack of enthusiasm for London listed stocks'.
2. Some invested here may have been overcommitted up at higher SP's, and might have been driven into unloading by these large & numerous short positions, which have been pretty relentless on this stock for a long time period now.
3. Fears of buyers who've perhaps not seen enough direct action by the BOD's of SSPG to reward holders (I think this is resolved by today's RNS results with these BOD commitments). Plus the wider macroeconomic demand fears in western economies (I saw SSPG as a big growth stock bucking that trend but many will have been rattled).
4. The final one is debt, lots of fear narratives about any business with large debts. Now I see debt as good, when the conditions are right of course (i.e. robust strategy to manage the debt). However, many out there had a bout of 'debt purism (any debt = oh my god any business with debt is doomed - which is of course complete nonsense).
My thoughts, feel free to share yours if you have other ideas!
