Acceleration Upwards5 Sep 2024 11:38
I've shared for a long while on here that I saw BT SP as easily reaching £1.60-£165p and beyond within this financial year. Several reasons we're now going to see a rapid uptick IMO:
1. US Fed Rate cut of 0.25% is pretty much a locked on certainty for W/C 16th Sep. It'll support all global stock exchanges.
2. Labour Gov has to investment/support FTTP+5G, plus more housebuilding. Even if there's a greater level of competition, down the line, there's now a clear route towards faster rates of growth for all market players to enjoy over the years ahead of this 5yr Labour term. ALL Fibre/Streaming/Mobile network providers will see higher growth rates, so competition becomes a lesser concern for all operators in such instance. Labour cannot neglect insatiable appetite for data.
3. UK inflation set to blip slightly upwards, over these next 0-6months, means End Mar 25 price rises for all telecoms company's are set to enjoy sensible but not outrageous price uplifts, 'the rising tide lifts all boats'.
4. Raw materials inflation doesn't look to be behaving the same as services inflation, should mean telecoms input costs are a little lower than might otherwise have been the case e.g. oil/fuel/metals/energy.
5. Fear of a stocks/equities crash amongst some investors is rapidly subsiding, much less drive to hit that sell button and far more drive to hit the buy button for FOMO. Certainly helps to have better core investors on board; Slim + Bharti - whom look as though they'll be more active + supporting/guiding the BT board. Drahi did v.little.
6. Less stock available to buy plus some of the short holders who've attempted to double down are now facing monumental costs to repurchase BT stock, will the short holders find re-assurance from AimMaster, Polo Tangy & UBS? In light of their bearish stance having already been proven to have been delusional before?
7. Dividends next week... some will always choose reinvestment so this will boost the SP, or at v.least act as a counter to some who may opt for profit taking...
The upwards sprint towards £1.60p should only take a few weeks here IMO... Hold on for the fun ride!
