Thats because I'd already sold the other ~93% of the shares at higher prices some weeks ago in anticipation of market sell offs.

As I explained to you; Tories from 2010 increased national debt from £1.35trillion to £2.77trillion in 2024. Whilst Covid + Ukraine makes up a sizable amount they do not account for the Tory ineptitude & mismanagement of the economy over their 14yrs of failed rule. As for tackling criminal gangs; the Tories have left the prisons & legal system in a complete mess. Labour will need time to repair the damage & once they're on the mend they'll be rightly judged on their actions to tackle those people trafficking gangs.

I just spotted the US jobs figs... Sold up my remaining ~7% of BT which I'd been holding. I think it could get rather savage out there on the trading floors of the US stock exchanges with spill over onto the FTSE indices here.

Yes, I still reckon the net result will be a FTSE broad based market correction due to investors realising the UK economy is materially worse than they had previously perceived it to be. After today's small rally I expect the drops to resume with gusto and that's because between 2010 and 2024 the Tories took the nations debts from around £1.35trillion to just over £2.7trillion but also the allowed public assets to significantly decay & fall into disrepair.

It'll take a long time for the UK to return to economic strength and yes, this budget is terrible but... it's completely the fault of the Tories as they have made this budget necessary through their underinvestment and their overspending on gimmicks.

Yes, many folk suffer chronic pain from manual labour, luckily thanks to the Labour party, which established the NHS in the first place, it's the case many can receive helpful free treatment for hip, lower back and shoulder pain etc. when need is required due to poor health.

Look you assume I've always supported Labour when before I've lived in areas with no Labour representation and so I've only had other parties on the ballot. Yes, I always vote and yes, I voted Labour in this 2024 snap election called by Rishi early because he knew he couldn't carry on with the terrible state of the nations finances and his party falling apart too.

The increased NMW is completely relevant for JDW, because they'll still have to increase pay for those staff currently paid a little bit more than the NWM, if they're to maintain staff pay being a little above NWM.

To mitigate, for the rising input costs, it could be that JDW opts to raise pay but... only to match NMW i.e. they chose to lose the pride of paying staff slightly above NMW. However, in doing so it'll probably demotivate a proportion of JDW's workforce in the process and some will choose to leave too (perhaps that may be a welcomed result of such an approach). I guess time will tell to see how JDW reacts to these budget announcements but... to say "that aspect of the budget isn't relevant." is simply not true for JDW.

Your shrieks and complaints about the current state of the UK ignore the simple fact that the Tory party has ruled over 14yrs in which they have already done exactly what you have complained about above:

As I mentioned before it is 14yrs of Tory Government which has driven up the nations debts from £1.35trillion to just over £2.7trillion where it is today and that's a material fact. Additionally the Tories failed to sufficiently maintained a certain base level of public essential assets and services, so it's unsurprising that Labour is the position where it has to take some tax from those whom are minted in order to pay towards restoring the base standards required for an advanced economy the UK aspires to have.

Sub 500p by COP today looks inevitable as this wider bounce on the FTSE won't last IMO.

Blackrock may well have boosted their stake but... the stake they purchased is now sitting as a loss on their accounts. Sub 600p is inevitable here IMO and the rally this morning on the wider FTSE will not last.

It's also a material fact the 14yrs of Tory Government drove up the nations debts from £1.35trillion to just over £2.7trillion where it is today. The primary reason they failed so drastically was due they failed to meaningfully grow the economy, debts grew faster (and therefore accumulated) than the economy could net tax receipts.

as for covid-19, well sunak + boris saw to it that dido harding, matt han**** & his mates, and michelle mone did rather well from it! it seems you've also forgotten about the useless ppe which had to be buried in a landfill site because it was of such poor quality it could not be used.

then there's hs2 monumental white elephant... only sunak and boris could achieve spending almost £100 billion on a railway from old oak common to birmingham - such an epic waste! they could have easily built them 40x hospitals they repeatedly promised with that money... the littany of utter failures by the tories is epic. not to mention they've driven the majority of the nations local councils to the edge of bankruptcy too.
