Re H2 for cars - the brilliant Stellantis hybrid H2/battery van powertrain seems well suited for larger cars/SUVs - it doesn't have to be only EV vs H2. Small - medium sized battery for local running combined with fuel cell for range seems like a perfect combination and gets over the hurdle of initial lack of H2 refuelling stations.

Pre-feasibility study
A pre-feasibility study, conducted in 2016-2017, concluded that fossil-free steel, given today’s price of electricity, coal and cost of CO2 emissions, would be 20-30% more expensive. With declining prices in electricity from fossil-free sources and increasing costs of CO2 emissions through the European Union Emissions Trading System (ETS), the pre-feasibility study also concluded that fossil-free steel will, in the future, be able to compete in the market with traditional steel.

I had a 1-1 zoom meeting with the Chairman of Aquarius Engines a week ago. Their first contract for the hydrogen powered version of their horizontal single piston, lightweight engine was for €250m euros with an option to extend to €600m euros. The contract is with Nokia for generators. The market for generators is massive and a lightweight, low cost alternative to fuel cell generators needed to replace ff generators is massive. The company can also provide range extenders for vehicle powertrains, now a more attractive option with their hydrogen engine variant. These initiatives expand the contract opportunities for ITM power as the demand for hydrogen increases.

Btw if you think Linde have got it wrong think again....today's presentation said it all. They have huge experience but came after ITM for a very good reason.

Johnpol - using that logic a lot if Tesla and Amazon investor millionaires would not be where they are today. I wouldn't worry about the next 5 years - just how difficult it may become to invest in the electrolyser market then....

I am now in. It will be a long journey and no doubt erratic SP but we need to get away from addictive painkillers . Of course it is a gamble but we would not be here if we were not the type to take risks. I spent 10 years backing ITM Power and it is only in the last year it has really taken off. Be patient and stay the course - success in this field will be very rewarding; licensing is the key and NHS endorsement is the holy grail - this will take time.
