Hi Mommur - any thoughts on what that inaugural divd might be? - it's under 'active discussion' as we know and would be a material enhancement of our appeal when we move onto the main mkt.
My guess would be 5p ps (over 4 x covered on last year's figs.) to have us yielding 3.75% as we make our case, moving up into the realm of Institutional scrutiny / investment.

Just my conservative guess, ahead of all the positives to come that you've highlighted and with which all the LTHs fully anticipate, I'm sure - sasa.

Physical and / or big producing miners are the best methods, imv, Jep - ETF's are okay but many use options to augment their AU holdings to mirror the gold price and they, therefore, involve unnecessary third party risks, so one needs to be careful in those cases...

HGM is an attractive 'up and coming' decent producer which pays a progressive dividend and amongst the 'big boys' you might want to consider Polymetal (POLY) which has recently got into the FTSE 100 index - the only one in there at present. I hold both, fwiw - sasa.

The Mkt usually closes at lunch time today with little activity after 11.30am, so don't be surprised if nothing seems to be happening thereafter - you'll know why...sasa.

If the fund is quoted, gwm, it'll have a ticker symbol - put that into the 'watchlist' stock search (top left) and that should bring it up. Then press the 'add to stocklist' button - sasa.

Unlikely they'd do that, KungFu - we're just too small in their overall scheme of things but they might do us another favour like BKR (e.g. Shearwater?) - they're still a 5% shareholder in us, after all... sasa.

Yep, quite likely, rylidan, I'd say; I don't know of another decent producer yielding as much and once another surge in the gold price is seen, the sp should swiftly regain the 250p level we saw recently - sasa.

The Election result can only be good for mkt confidence and thus for prospective NS deals and with a boost from our 20% hike in the BKR income share arrangement about to kick - in, I don't expect to see SQZ hovering around this level for much longer, tbh... sasa.

Agreed, Blue - Eyes - an unusually wide spread often precedes an event that's deemed to be quite close, i.e the MMs are reluctant to encourage much trading, either way, in case they get caught on the wrong side of the fence when it happens.

It's gone very quiet on here, it's almost too quiet, just like it was last time with BKR, so I take that as a positive, pending... sasa.

Understood, Garp - I'm reasonably well positioned now in this but well overweight in Serica (only because I'm a lot more familiar with it having been invested there for almost a decade now and it's done especially well this past year) just like RRE, too...

They're very similar these two and I reckon they're the most attractive pairing in the NS O&G sector right now, for me, anyway - patience, as you say, is all that's required now, pending their next, respective, 'transformational' acquisition announcements. GLA - sasa.

The two chunky deals just purchased aggregate 550k shs - not 1.45m shs - misread the data on L2 - still very encouraging, though - sasa.

Interesting, that, rivaldo - especially as 1.45m shs have subsequently just gone through at 236p.

Echo that pragmatic comment, Garp - any serious investor would be considering the potential here, not 'looking to buy at the bottom', per se; nobody knows where that level resides, although we seem to be very close to it at present. Unless one's clairvoyant or very lucky in hindsight...

I've just added to my position, fwiw, while a 'bargain basement' opportunity currently applies, imv - saving a few pennies, if he's lucky, whilst risking losing out on several pounds ps, once this really moves, is a false economy.

Hi BrightSpot / CityBoy - whatever your views on POLY, it's in the FTSE 100 now and the trackers will need to buy it, especially if FRES is demoted shortly.

Don't get me wrong, I like FRES and hope it'll stay up as, until recently, I have done very well out of it but for now, the Mexican miner is struggling whereas POLY isn't - the next surge in pm's will clearly aid both, so GLA, anyway - sasa.

Wrong, CityBoy - Polymetal is now in the FTSE 100, too (replaced M&S recently) accompanying FRES right now; if the latter is ejected shortly, POLY will be the only one available in there.

It produces more AU than FRES and is the world's 5th biggest AG producer, FYI. Just sayin' - sasa.

It's a possibility, I suppose but it would run counter to Serica's avowed policy of buying into existing production / ideally as operator, to extend field 'life', etc., not get embroiled in development capex / risks when their existing model is working very well, so far.

BP's Shearwater looks more likely to me, given their close association and they still have a 5% odd stake in Serica, too, if memory serves (not that that's material, mind) - sasa.

As it remorselessly moves onwards - given the nature of the business they're in, obviously. The Instos yearn for this sort of reliability; all we need now is a decent hike in the divd to top it all off!

Given the resilience afforded by their pan European profile, such high divd cover (5.5 x eps) seems unnecessarily conservative to me, so a decent uplift might be seen next time? - sasa.

And the progress has been impressive. However, one thing still bugs me: is WJG having to replace any of the outer cladding on some of its buildings?

I e-mailed the Co. about this shortly after the horrible Grenfell disaster and their reply was 'we meet all the building regs and safety requirements as required by law' which was quite encouraging but since then, the building regs have been shown to be woefully inadequate and need urgently updating. Not so concerned about new builds, as I presume that the best fire-proof cladding is automatically installed these days but the pre- Grenfell developments might be involved with some costly replacements?

Not seen any mention of this in the A/cs or RNS's to date - has anyone else got a view on this important topic? - sasa.
