Roundtable Discussion; The Future of Mineral Sands. Watch the video here.
Gell,
I’d be interested to know your research and thinking behind your purchases? - all the way down.
I did something similar with a junior lithium miner - bought when the lithium market was riding high and thought I’d top up as it fell. But no more. Even though it’s tempting (emotionally) that I don’t want to miss out on any bottom, I’m resisting buying more to average down further. I’ve put enough on the line. The longer term looks good - but now it’s a question of how long…
Maybe this company will also come good long term… but it does feel a bit of a punt.
Sadly they don’t have the integrity or balls to post when they get it wrong.
Some post ad nauseum, some have a “little joke” belittling others - but only when they think they know it all.
Sad really.
It’s interesting psychology in these chats.
The ML landed (or the news bounced along) and the share price was a damp squib.
(With good old hindsight maybe it’s not so surprising + lithium market, the state of various economies, etc.)
But immediately the talk is of the next event that will set a fire under this share… ever the optimists. Of course! (Wouldn’t be here otherwise)
Chat rooms abhor a vacuum.
Market sentiment indeed.
Look at Piedmont and Albemarle. Former nearly 50% down in the past 3 months - though PLL did tick up a little at the end of the day (on ALL news…?!)
Recessionary fears? Who’s buying EVs in China - or indeed the more expensive ones in the West? Tesla dropped too.
Middle East situation isn’t helping either, on the back of Russian/Ukraine.
Interesting times!
But the world does need more lithium… so here we are - and stay!
Paul @1050hrs (when it was 17.75p)
Don’t waste your money or time
Will fall back in afternoon to 15p

Aklee @1338hrs
Lol it's still blue and the chart still says above 20 soon
~~~
I guess Aklee can say “soon” means tomorrow or maybe next week?
Tomorrow, tomorrow, there’s always tomorrow…
Reverting to the mean after the non-sense ramp and fall.
Remove that from the graph and it’s been at this level for a good while.
Minute by minute commentary only seems to appear when it’s making gains.
Surely everyone observes this on other chats: the pile in when there’s a rise, with predictions the share is going to go stratospheric.
Some want to trade, some want to invest. You makes your choice, you pays your money. Ideally you’ve done some research to justify putting in your money… unless you’re just gambling.
If 1 out of 10 times you get a 10-bagger, who thinks that would be good?
If and when the DFS appears this year (it’s mining, things slip…) then maybe we’ll reach, ooh, maybe into the 40s (again). That might look good if we sink a little lower from here. Lithium price is down from its earlier exuberance, so a dampener across all miners. Offtakes…is that once road to mining (local objections placated) is clear? then who knows…
But I’m just being ultra-cautious as I really have no idea!
With China’s economic troubles, taking (“back”) Taiwan would probably be a very useful strategy for Xi. Marshall his troops and with it the people. A good distraction from the Chinese property market. Plus it cements his position for posterity. Nightmare for the west.
Marketeers eating their own dog food I’m guessing - they think the punters like to hear “AI” being mentioned, as its all the rage.
I’m sure it will have an impact here and many other businesses… but maybe not quite yet.
I’ve tried the “Can an astronomer marry a star?” question to the likes of ChatGPT and Bing, they said it’s not possible. But of course they are not the real AI. The smart black box (statistical modelling/neural network) types that have been trained on good data sets will revolutionise our world.
It’s been to the moon… and now it’s back down to earth.
Back to its long term average…?
Seems that earlier ramping spike has passed and I feel sorry for those who’s fingers have been badly burnt.
No doubt some folk made some money when it was peaking - just a good case of wealth transfer I’d say.
What goes up so fast will usually come down just as fast.
I hope something positive is going on.
But there seems to be a lot of somethings going on when I look at other lithium junior miners! (ie they are all down - though maybe not by 9% like ALL today)…
Hi Nige,
Yes, SMS does (or did) have a good track record.
That’s why I originally invested here - and took a decent profit after the 800 peak. Some might say I took flight as it started crumbling.
And then I got back in thinking the falls were overdone. Now I am considerably down and I feel his track record is a just a little tarnished given the recent “shenanigans”.
Anyway, I am sticking with it/him - through the wailing and nashing of teeth - I guess I am gaining investing “experience” ;). I enjoy and value reading folks views and insights here. Thanks/cheers!
