I always wonder where someone like you would get your news from. Maybe you don’t trust any source at all - though how do you then come to any conclusion? Perhaps you research every news item yourself with your expertise answer skill on every topic. There’s critical thinking and there’s paranoia.

It was a fact-checking article. You can lead a horse to water, etc. I trust the BBC far more than some other outlets - they aren’t perfect, who is? So I what’s your source of news and info? I’m fascinated to know.

You have people who follow his word - when *some* of it is patently false. I expect more from those in positions of power and influence.

Whether you like Gates or not he has funded healthcare programmes and that funding has and will save lives. A quick google is sufficient.

As to Turnip having planned all this for financial gain, that really gives him far too much credit. He’s just retreated as he realised = has been strongly advised - to back peddle but call it spin it as a master plan, as it’s not looking good for the US (he only cares about ratings and petty grievances).

As to tariffs - any government should look at them as an economic tool for their country. If and when you apply them is the clever part. Tanking the stock market and up treasury yields doesn’t seem that clever.
