bidding war after all?3 Sep 2021 13:38
I've not been a great believer in the notion of a bidding war taking place but I'm finally starting to think it could be on the cards now.
If there is a JORC resource update of anything near 40m oz (MT + 6 of the Rosego JV areas) then the current sp before any sale announcement will rocket up to at least 50p, probably quite a lot more, and that will be the starting gun for offers. If someone has bid for some of the assets, what's to stop an outside party coming in and saying 'we want all of EUA and it's numerous JV areas with Rosgeo'? Then I can easily imagine the 'credible party' having to dig either a little deeper for the asset sale they're after or just go for it and wade in for the lot and hey presto we're probably way, way above £1 a share. Who knows, maybe even close to £2. Amazing times.
I just can't see NN allowing any of this to slip through their fingers or getting into a situation further down the line where they might have to be in another bidding war/competition for more of the JV areas which are on their turf. If this is what the BOD have been planning all along then it's an out and out masterclass in brinkmanship in the world of M & A. Truly exceptional.
Am smiling like a cheshire cat and wishing everyone here achieves their own personal goals/targets with their shares, with the exception of shorters. You make your bed, fill it with sh...te then you can lie down in it and live in it. Just hope none of your families suffer as I imagine they are probably none the wiser with regard to how you operate and thrive on setting about destroying and rubbishing companies, their BODs and indeed their share holders. I wish it could be made illegal. With EUA you have now bitten off more than anyone can chew. The potential upside from here is absolutely enormous.
Really hoping to see 30p broken today and then zone in on 40p next week even before the next major RNS lands.
