beechknot; no way will GDR get to £1 on an RNS regarding AIHL, unless the entire NHS has adopted it and it attains 'best practice' from NICE. Most likely not even 60p. For that to happen we need proven revenue and thus far we have none. Zero. That's not happening any time soon as AIHL needs to establish a track record now it's being used in the Manchester Hospitals. Once a 3 or 6 month report is published stating categorically it has been a success and saved the hearing of several babies then I think the NHS roll out will begin in earnest. I'm surprised and disappointed none of the London children's hospitals have taken the machines on. Some of them are extremely well funded and the financial layout would be peanuts for them. Something else obviously is needed to advance AIHL's potential in the eyes of the NHS.
As stated many times before I think the Covid POC kit is now for the bin as most countries and large corporate organisations already have their own testing kits and systems in place. They're highly unlikely to spend a fortune now buying in new kit from GDR as the virus is on the wane. Covid may not be over but as far as all western Govts are now concerned it's just like the flu and will be treated as such. Money will go on new vaccines I suspect but not new testing kit, especially really expensive machines like GDR's. Sad fact but in spite of the quality of GDR's POC machines, it made it to market way too late to stand any chance of being sold. We've obviously not sold any in Spain, Portugal, Oman or the UAE in any great numbers or else we would have seen an RNS celebrating the fact - and more importantly the figures!
I think Budd may now be holding back on submitting AIHL for US approval because AIHL is proving slower than anticipated in generating income and it's too risky to spend £2m on the application with no guarantees it will be successful. With every day that passes and we hear nothing about sales of any products the more likely it is Budd is going to miss the boat with AIHL as well. As I've said, this is a massive area for the future of medicine and GDR will not be the only diagnostics company out there working their backsides off in trying to develop similar assays. Budd has a reputation for being slow and I think we're in yet another of his 3 - 6 month periods of silence where things just don't go our way. It will only take one company developing something similar but with more clout in the world of commercialisation and GDR will be swept aside. Again.
I'm going to sit tight for the time being but if we have another month of silence then I think I'm going to have to call it quits and just take the loss. As many have said, it's such a tragedy for the GDR scientists developing these great products that they are led by such a poor management team, in particular Budd and the sales people. Haven't given up all hope just yet....
