RE: Molopo12 Oct 2022 12:17
The cynic in me thinks PJ has been trying to set this up for a while now simply in order to get the sp up to a more respectable level, but the longer it goes on the more I think he must know he'd only be shooting himself in the foot if this drill came to nothing and he'd been seen by the entire market blowing hot air about it to all and sundry for the last couple of months. All those interviews of 'ooh it's a very large conductor...we're really excited...' etc would really damage his reputation going forwards and make it far harder to attract interest on other projects further down the line. A case of Peter crying 'wolf', if you like. So, I now lean to the idea he's super confident that they're on to something a bit special but of course he can't possibly really know anything more than anyone until the cores are out of the ground and have been tested.
Agreed that after all the RNSs keeping us informed of every little step of every project POW has interests in, not to mention all the recent interviews and tweets trying to whip investors up into a frenzy over the Molopo drill, it's odd that they would now miss out on a straight forward update - that in no way would be price sensitive - just to say first target depth of 300m reached with no problems and it's now on to the more serious depths.
As for Oliver being there, it's part of his job I would imagine to oversee the more serious cores being looked after and sent for inspection. Thing is, has a third party also sent their own rep/geologist to verify first hand what is seen visually as it comes out of the ground. I gather that even from the naked eye geologists can tell to a degree what is in front of them so it makes sense he's there to give PJ as clear an idea as he can on progress and which way results might go. All fascinating to watch and observe PJ's modus operandi, especially as he hopes to be in similar positions with other POW projects in the near future.
Place your bets and good luck.
