RE: Today's RNS17 Sep 2025 13:33
Not every drill hole will be a success in porphyry exploration and some are deliberately drilled to mark boundaries.
That explains why holes 59, 61, and 63 came in below cut-off, while holes 60 and 65 delivered strong, shallow intercepts that would be considered economic by global open-pit standards. Hole 57 was in line with expectations. TAM continues to confirm thick, near-surface mineralisation, especially with hole 65 and the earlier standout hole 58, which are the type of results that drive starter-pit economics. The addition of a possible third pit at TAM West is good news of course.
Concerning waste rock and the tailings facility, SolGold has said testing is under way but nothing is yet confirmed. In practice, many large mines do exactly this even if parts of an early pit are uneconomic as ore, the waste rock is still mined and used to build critical site infrastructure like tailings dams. As you know, I expect Solgold to use waste rock from TAM in this way for the TSF because I think it is reasonable to expect SolGold will take the same approach, which means TAM is not just about ore grades but also about enabling the larger block cave and wider project.
