That Netflix article is interesting. It may be a possibility but can I mention that in the last couple of days I have heard from two different sources that US giant tech company Apple have had their slide rules out on ITV.

Maybe an empty rumour, but the same message came from two totally different contacts, both based in NY and both have never mentioned ITV to me before, in fact the only reason I have been researching, is it seems possible because of the interest suddenly surrounding the company. DYOR

I am with you Peachy11, there are people on other boards talking about bumper figures and the sp soaring. All I can say is it will be first if Lady McCall gives us a glimmer of hope.

Too many people forecasting great news, I will believe when I see it. This current ITV management haven't been much of a boost for the sp, so anything good will be a shock to the system.

If ITV can buy CH4 for £500m, it would add a billion to any bid, so talk of CH4 being a drag is plainly wrong.

If the Govt privatised it in an IPO on the LSE, it would raise a lot more than £500m.

I thin they may never get back to their 5 year high because there will be a bid at somewhere around the 180p mark. When a bid comes, it is more than likely to not be recommended by the board of directors. What could easily happen here is a few interested parties coming to the table.

Looking at the volumes and the share price, what little is being traded is being heavily controlled by market makers.

That is my opinion and I have been trading shares successfully for over 20 years, so if you disagree please don't think I am attempting to advise.

Looks like it will be out of the FTSE on the dismal performance of the share price. McCall should be in line for Panto Dame of the year again, she is a joke. I looked on ADVFN board earlier, seems there are a lot of disgruntled investors.

This is certainly a great entry level, just over 60p this morning. If someone tried to buy ITV at a lowball bid, the sp would soar above any lowball offer, the MM's pencils would be marking the buy price up way above 100p and then the buyers would push it up more. It wouldn't happen, it would be hostile and hostile takeovers generally just shake others into action.

I would love to see a bid of 120p, that would be double today's price and great for those who have been hoovering these up at it's recent lows.

ITV have lost almost 70% since December 2019. Cheap imo, for the long term.

They have fallen much further than I would have expected and in my opinion there are shorters out there in this share...it should be banned, but I doubt the Tories would do it.

I am glad that ITV weren't tipped by any of the media pundits this year, because they almost always get it wrong I think can often be the kiss of death. Suffice to say, I read this clip from Investopedia today regarding UK stocks, because I am of the same opinion and think it is to the point, I am posting the link.

H hi....I think to call Carolyn McCall 'clueless' is woefully harsh and a bit clueless on your part. She wasn't an aviator or expert on airlines when she was hired by Easyjet and after a couple of years taking a commercial and pragmatic outlook implementing many changes, she quadrupled the share price and some. Michael O Leary of Ryanair and Willie Walsh of BA both ended up fearing her, they both were very damming and sneering of her appointment at the time only for McCall to show them how to run an airline. She is coming up to two years at ITV so it would be fair to see where things are at the next results in March.

I have subscribed to Britbox, superb back catalogue. Actually watched more Britbox over Xmas than anything else. Great value, so much stuff we missed and so much great stuff from bygone years. Recommend!

You are not alone in taking advantage of the dips in ITV, guy on ADVFN reckons manipulation. I have been buying at strategic times and getting a couple of pence profit on the run up to close, 20k blocks on a couple of pence net £250 after stamp and dealing. I have had to run into the next day only once this month. Keep it coming, just hope I ain't on the sidelines if a bid comes.

The sp still ended slightly up even though the DOW was plummeting between 3.15 and 4.30GMT

Why is the sp showing 117.35p when it closed at 114.90 on Friday.
