RE: Bid for ITV4 Mar 2022 17:47
You talk of a bid of 110p to take out ITV...there is no chance that will happen. Over the last couple of days the volume traded has been maybe 100 million shares, buys two to one onnsells. Well, if you had bought every one of those buys and your name was Liberty, you still would be no where near a position to bid.
If the ITV board had not come up with a what the luddites see as a turkey, these would have stood well above a pound today, sadly changes to a staid old ITV is taboo even though their ITV hub is a winner . Just because the share has traded today at as low as 72p, really means nothing if a bidder appeared, it doesn't actually work that way. Institutions and funds do not dump millions of shares in a panic. All that as happened is the float out there has taken a drop, a paper loss is only a loss to a forced seller. Go by the words of the most successful investor in the world..“fearful when others are greedy, and greedy when others are fearful.” said Warren Buffett, he has taken advantage of buying stocks when markets retreat and is a true billionaire to prove it.
