Just read an interesting post on ADVFN. The biggest content provider in Europe Banijay have been in talks with ITV about buying the ITV studios arm.

Didn't a recent ST article say Dame McCall has intimated the studios are worth £3 billion, does that mean the rest is valued at zero! If ITV did sell the studios, would the funds be distributed to shareholders?

I have made enough on RR. to buy a shirt factory.

Dame McCall's ITVx will be launched soon and all those kids will be signing up for ITVx and adding to the subscriber level.
No TV licence required, thousands of hours on new and old content, they are queing up to join. It's gonna be a winner and all the doubters will be wishing they'd picked ITV up at 62p.

You don't have to be brave to buy shares in ITV, the word brave and bargain are not exclusive to ITV. Like I posted peachy, imo ITV will probably not get any cheaper than the 67p they are today. However, I am in for the duration, the time factor means little. Remember that it's not 'timing' but 'time in' that has been the long term investor's friend over many years.

I laugh when I read the comments on here...so now we have the designated psychiatrist giving NigeCo his annual assessment. All of the usual rubbish spouted by the know-alls, like all savvy investors Nige and many others are tie investors who know that ITV have all the ingredients to get back up to 120p and more.

Just for the record, the bears may be out atm, so there are just a few bargains to be had for those who are brave enough.

I don't know if Goldfinger from ADVFN is in the know, but the volumes are way up since ITV became a FTSE 250 company.

Sunny, so you think that a 'big fish' will come along and buy ITV for 70p a share....what planet are you living on? So you think that because the share price this morning is 68p, the whole of ITV shareholders would sell at 70p. The float out there is being traded for 68p, it constitutes a tiny proportion of the 4 billion plus shares held. Any number of Billionaires out there would love to buy ITV for 70p a share, double that figure and add a bit as a starter. And before you buy anymore shares, swot upon bids and mergers and how they work.

Although I didn't agree with you on some things regarding McCall, I still wanted to read your input. The thread is no help if it is censored, I never post on ADVFN because of real trolls and now I will stop posting here as it is a waste of time if censorship is in force. Nige Co...you are correct in your assumption of Bmouth Tom. If there are 20 identical houses in your street and one is sold for say £100 because needs must example because of recession, slump, bankruptcy, margin calls or a hundred other reasons, on Tom's reasoning someone with the money can come along and buy the street for £2k...if only!!! Fund managers are not in the market to lose and they never do, hedge funds may appear to take a loss, but it is also often window dressing.

ITV will not be sold for peanuts barring Putin attacks the UK and then we are all done for. On the ADVFN ITV board atm there is an all out deramp camapign happening, very easy for me and my professional colleagues to see through, but I would wager that some will have sold on the fear this well organized troll operation has struck . Manipulation, trolls, derampers, tales of bust and 20p a share.....seems a lot of people are doing their best to keep ITV down. When this takes off it will wait for no one, my advice is stay long and forget all about 20p and think more about 200p and more, because the sum of the parts, the cashflow and McCall's ITVX are all reasons to be long!

Liberty with their 10% holding and the pirate John Malone have been a thorn in the side of ITV ever since he got involved. Many experts think that the share has been kept down artificially. It's easily done when so few shares are available to buy. All the selling was done by shorters back in March and nothing has changed. I pray these parasites will be caught out, but at the moment they have the upper hand.

For all those who blame McCall, they produced sterling numbers and ITVx is the future, she is not to blame for the ridiculous fall of 40%. It will all come out in time, but we have to wait.

ITVX launching in the 3rd Qtr has two platforms. The ITVX free platform will have adverts and will replace ITV hub, it has 9,000 hours of programmes which combines new and old and is 4,000 hours more or nearly double the current ITV hub. The Premium Service which will launch with 15,000 hours of advert free programmes will include BritBox which will cease to be.

The press have given ITV a hard time because they say the cost of it all will hit profits. ITVX free service has 9,000 hours f programmes, which is about 25% of the hours Netflix have. The Premium service has 15,000 which is about 47% of Netflix. ITVX has more hours than Disney+ Apple and Prime put together and offers a free service. People are watching their pennies so imo it is a cert to capture many of those leaving Netflix. I did a bit of research and at least 60% 0f Netflix is old stuff. McCall needs to do a big advertising campaign so it rolls out to a public who know it's free. Streaming also does not require a TV licence which is great for that age group 16-30....it will be a success!!

Why is ITVX utter madness, it is a free streaming service with 15,000 hours of TV in it's bank being launched as money gets tight and people are ditching subscriptions. Could be a raging success! The CNN streaming service is a News Channel and cannot be compared.

ITVX will get many of those who are ditching Netflix and others, more viewers will get more advertisers. They have written off ITVX with all the hubris they promoted Netflix. They follow each other like sheep, ITVX could be a huge success and with a share price of peanuts ITV are a raging BUY..

Peachy...do we have to have baby talk about turds and all. McCall is more switched on than you will ever be. She knows ITVX will suck up some of those ditching Netflix, Disney, Prime etc.

The Netflix news is great for ITV, it shows that McCall can't be far out on ITVX. There are millions of digital streaming viewers out there for ITVX to tap into. All good for the future!

Nige....SWS say 359p and others are somewhere from 95p to over 200p. The sp will break out and go to 120p in a couple of weeks. The drop has been falsely marked down, nobody thinks that ITVX is going to break ITV, it is ridiculous. If that is the best excuse those f***kers can come up, then it's a strong buy. Jeez if this was some tiddly little company with just a couple of soaps and a small studio they would give it more credence.

When posters like Porsche and his like are calling it '****' and 'doomed' it's time to BUY.

On a different note to Porsche's negativity, I just read a post on the ADVFN ITV thread from Simply Wall St that puts ITV at 359p...must be a misprint. A post points out the market caps of the other main TV companies. It's worth noting that ITV is valued at a pittance in comparison, something like a couple of percent of them.

Now I wouldn't suggest anything about bids as it would be pure spec. However when things are so obviously bombed out and laying discarded, history tells us someone somewhere notices and things can happen. As the old saying goes, has the time come to fill your boots. DYOR
