I would love to see this reach 90p so I can sell this money losing share off, does anyone think that's possible anytime in the near future, or should I lower my expectations?

Garonne, i'm not disagreeing with you but please tell us why you bought these back? if you feel like that about shares in general you may want to take a look at some tracker fund most have returned around 80% in the last 5 years, but of course there's no guarantee that they do as well in the next 5 years, I think most will agree that Vodafone has been pretty dismal over the last 5 years or more, how well it will do in the coming years I've no idea, i'm still hopeful that it can break past the 80p then move on to 90p we will have to wait and see what happens, but best of luck we all need it here

Providing the dividend doesn't get cut and we don't lose any of our capital mng could be a very rewarding investment IMO

Jedclampit, the only dividends you will get next year are ones that have been reduced by 50% if you want to call them specials it's up to you, it's all about potential growth here now, time will tell how well that works out

DramChart, my targets for those shares are a bit lower, i was thinking 225 lgen/400 aviv/190 mng , but it's a difficult one if interest rates drop as expected that might give all of those share prices a boost so i might have to up those targets, mng is my number one target for topping up as i'm already a bit heavy in the others, what are your thoughts on phnx, i sold out of that one for around £7 several years ago and if you look at the 5 year chart it resembles a ski slope kind of reminds me of my cursed Vodafone shares, do you feel they have done enough to turn that one around?

also i kind of agree with moneybox007, as 50% of my portfolio is in tracker funds and most have returned around 80% in the last 5 years, will the next 5 years be as good i just don't know, so glad i have the other 50% in UK dividend shares

Not a great time for making any gains in the stock market, all of my shares and funds are dropping back at the moment, i'm holding back cash and dividends and looking for a bargain, a bit disappointing to see this one dropping back so low, let's hope it can get it's mojo back before next exdiv

If you expected a 5p (5.5p at lows) drop from a less than 4p divi then why didn't you sell before 🤔

as expected going on previous years, is not the same as i'm sure it will, i have sold before exdiv on other shares in the past and regretted it afterwards, sometimes it works well and sometimes it doesn't, so now i tend to just hold my shares and top up if they go below my average, right way or wrong way, you guys tell me

Todays exdiv drop was pretty much as expected really, let's hope we can start building back up towards 80 and beyond, mole will be regretting wasting his money on that cronky starship, what goes up must come down ?

Dan, It doesn't matter which board you go on you will always have posters mentioning other shares from time to time because most people are interested in making a profit on the stock market in general and sometimes like to compare returns over different sectors, you are pretty unique only investing in Vodafone alone, but i agree bringing pointless arguments here that have taken place on other share boards is something nobody is interested in, hopefully they will be able to resolve their differences or just agree to disagree, one thing we have realised over the years is no matter how much research anyone does nobody can predict what the share price will be in the future otherwise we would all have sold up several years ago when we could have got £1.40, good to see it get a bit closer to 80p let's hope it can continue after exdiv

LTI. yes of course, and i'm not in any rush to sell up here, hopefully we will be rewarded for out patience eventually, it does make me wonder sometimes though if it will keep underperforming compared to the returns available elsewhere, let's hope it's worth it for us all, i have to admit there does seem to be more potential here than there's been in the past

Gee, It's getting like one of them tv soaps on here, and it all started over exdiv day, to be continued tomorrow, will LTI still be stalking our friend fleccy, for how much longer will narcus be able to be nice to dan for ?, will fleccy have his coffee before posting and will dan be able to stay off the bells whisky, but most important will gutter be predicting another good day for us

Narcus, its currently around 10% per year, but that's only if you were luck enough to buy at these lower prices, so next year it will be around 5% for those at these prices, for myself it will be more like 3% which is rubbish, it depends if the lower dividends will be replaced with growth, i really would like to see this back around 90p so i then have more options
