Hi Dan, and thanks for that mate, It was good to see the Vodafone share rise today, but have no idea which way this is going now, just the same with most of my other shares, one of the biggest mistakes for me was investing a large part of my portfolio in Lloyds bank which is still a disappointing 44p when i was hoping for 70p by now, my direct line shares took a big hit the other day and probably more to follow, so this might be another year of just collecting dividends, while hoping and waiting for things to improve once again, one thing i do know is i don't care what Mikey or anyone else says it really doesn't bother me, i only care about things that make a difference, I think most people on here would like to see you and Mikey getting on, or maybe you could both just ignore each other ?, don't know the answer to that problem maybe some one else does ?
But have a great weekend mate, and hopefully Vodafone will start to climb those ladders for us again :-)

Biggest fear is how far this might drop after exdiv, as it can be a long climb back up, so hoping it's not much less than the div

Gold5, thanks for your opinion, i like the high yield on this one, but have a high break even price of 220, which i would like to lower, but as we all know, things don't always work the way we would like them too, so difficult decision

Steve305, not sure we will live and learn mate, if we could predict when and by how much the share price would drop or rise, then we could all be very rich, as for the share price dropping further and dividend cuts, hope your wrong about that, but anything could happen, the world is in a mess right now, but this is a strong company and i expect it will come back strong again given a bit of time

Robina, you may have a good point about a rocky road ahead in the coming months, my break even here is £6.10 so in profit at the moment, the big question for me is, should i sell up now before exdiv, and just hold in cash for a possible much larger than the dividend drop

Share price rising nicely on approach to ex div, will be interesting to see how much higher it can go, might be worth taking profits before and buy back later, what are you guys thinking ?

csdi, I have spent the last year trying to restructure my portfolio, and taking advantage of topping up as these discounted prices is the only way i see of making the necessary improvements, not only are you improving your capital growth but also increasing the yields, but i only have limited new cash for doing so, pooling my dividends together for extra resources is also helping
would love to see you perhaps getting at least one more pot though, when possible just in case one should go down
But don't take my advise I wish i was better at this, just have to keep on trying

Not sure any shares are giving at the moment, at least the dividends are still flowing at the moment, strangely i am seeing a change in my portfolio lately, as my funds and investment trust have been gaining in value again, about time something really good happened for a change to bump up all the share prices, think those big profit making oilers will have to pay a price for ripping us all off

I Agree nothing to worry about here in the long term, dividend income is important to me now for retirement, so not wanting to put all my eggs in one basket i have the following dlg-mng-phnx-lgen-lloy-vod-aviv, plus various funds, so far dlg and vod have been the weakest links with regards to sp drop, but expect others may follow the same trend, most important test for me will be though is the dividends, so far all are holding up, but they will be put to the test in the coming months

Dan, vod has taken a bit of a disappointing turn at the moment, we are all aware of that, just spend some of those dividends and enjoy for now, will just have to wait a while longer and see where it takes us, the only alternative is to sell
just don't go doing a disappearing act and leave us to suffer on our own mate, or we will have to come looking for you :-}
