Couple of things to note: It's odd that they've seemingly sat on these recordings for over 2 years in some cases. Also, theres a significant jump in quality in the newer recordings vs the older ones.

Trending at number 3 again.
Hi, whilst I'm not dismissing this theory, I've no experience of these things, I would just point out the 'purposefully repressed share price' theory had been around for a good couple of years.
As someone mentioned earlier (sorry cant be bothered looking who) we're up from 200 to 24 on top apps in music on the apps store. Take a look at the apps around it in the charts, some household names.
Personally, I'm not interested in the day to day share price, I'm interested in the interaction with the product. The business model is exceptional if that can get engagement.
But I cant read it. Can someone post.
Would that include reviews? I was looking at some of the apps around it in the rankings and some really obscure apps have circa 500 reviews. Were on 400 on the App store and a bit less on google. The good news is that reviewers are generally very positive, unless theyve had a tech issue.
I've been watching the Play Store trending rank for the past couple of weeks and it's in the wilderness. It was up at 2 in Music when we did the last set of pre-recorded shows. I dont know how apps are ranked, I would have assumed it's by downloads. I also dont know of geography comes into it. Were sat at number 200 on the App store music ranking, which is a KPI we should monitor IMO. There also havent been a great deal of new reviews on Play Store or Apps Store. My only conclusion is that not that many people have downloaded the app but I'd love to be wrong.
Absolutely. ORLM, whilst not overly concerned, I'd certainly be interested in the response you get.
My original criticism was when that JL insta post went out, it didn't give any time to build excitement or news. It went out about 3 hours prior to the gig and there was very little noise on social media and in news article. There was far more about him doing a house party event in India. I cant see the logic in the late advertising.
Every time I read the paper there's an article on streamed gigs. I've watched all sorts of live streamed gigs and this was by far the highest quality so I find it hard to understand why it's not huge news. I think if that post had gone out a day or two earlier, there would have been more noise. Anyway we've picked the bones out of that one and I'm not in marketing so maybe theres a good reason. Really looking forward to seeing who theyve got lined up next and hopefully they manage to improve the marketing if the event.
Whilst I agree re app downloads, people just tweet what they are doing in Twitter and there was very little mention. Melody is also not trending on Google Play apps, as far as I can see. So the clues dont look great. I know on jumping to conclusions but it looks like theyve had two major superstars (Payne & Legend) perform two very high quality gigs but have struggled to translate into engagement. As artists and labels decide what delivery platform they choose during lockdown, they'll weigh the two up: millions of views live streaming on Insta, FB or YouTube but poor quality or a high quality production with low engagement on Melody. They need to nail this quickly because someone else will. Seems like a basic marketing issue to me.
John Legend on a grand piano in a 50 m2 circular studio backlit by screens slowly and gently changing colour. Very simple, makes the focus very much on the artist and the music rather than the surroundings. I was particularly impressed by the sound quality but the video was crystal clear as well. He sounds amazing, which helps. There were 4 jump spots and a 'Director's Cut' which jumped seamlessly between the different views at a director's discretion. He played about 6 songs and spoke about their creation and context between tracks.
In summary, for me, an extremely high quality piece of work that artists, fans and labels should very impressed by. Personally, I'd be very of the way this was advertised, not a lot of media interest or noise on Twitter, which is a good bellwether of interest. That tweet melody put out with JL advertising the gig went out way too late IMO.
I'm the oculus Go. No problems.
No issues for me. Sounds and looks amazing. It's such an immersive experience. John Legend is brilliant.
5 hrs 35m and 17 seconds according to the app.
...on media and social media. I would have thought this would have created more of a buzz. Hopefully there's a sharp ramp this evening.
The looking down the camera and pointing is even more cringe in VR!
