Horse, 650 posts of trolling a share. I recall you trolling the share at 13p so we've probably got some way to go until you're happy. How about sharing news, research or info that you've come across. It's just opinions and name calling. Everyone knows that you're unhappy and everyone knows why, you've told us over 650 times. So what's the point?! Think of the time you could have back to canter through the fields, graze in the pastures or lick the salt block.
I tuned in a few times over the weekend but, like others, not my cup of tea. I wasnt sure if it was the best thing that Melody had produced but I was keen to let others decide. Having looked at the key metric and reviews from credible media, my conclusion is that Wireless was a huge success; not for financial reasons, I'm sure it's cost more than its earned, but I think we now sit on the best virtual festival/production option available. I dont worry about the revenue as if we can reach multiple hundreds of thousands then sponsorship will become a major factor. We definitely need help with reach but big name artists can sort that easily. We need to strike whilst the iron is hot and we have a very short window, I can imagine the phone has been off the hook since Monday morning.
My personal view is that the only relevant short term question is, what next? Festival/music providers look at what we've done and make their mind up. IF, someone like Reading and Leeds decided to do this you could expect 10x the numbers shared this morning.
Thanks A1ex, that's helpful and good figures. Is that total views or peak active viewers?
I'm cautiously optimistic about the app downloads but I would forecast 5-10k per day.
Interesting spot re Leeds and Reading, that would be a level up on Wireless IMO, more mainstream and targeted at the younger audience. 'Our friend at Wireless', wonder what the link is??
Can anyone remember how the 1.8m revenue figure for 2018 was constituted (broadly)? Was that pure sales through the app/platform or was their a special deal in there?
I've been watching MVR Twitter for the past few weeks and the last few artists they've followed have converted into shows in the days following. My thinking was it would be a clue to artists signing up for Wireless. They just added Nelly (who was huge in the late 90's, early noughties).
Yes agreed. Well done for finding that. It is great news. Cypress Hill are a headline act.
Probably an obvious comment but I'm sure there'll be an element of others acts looking to see who has committed to the Live series. Being able to reference act like Cypress Hill and John Legend adds huge weight when appealing to other acts.
I think that the current lockdown period is a battle to land on the highest quality format with good reach. Lots of examples of good reach and low quality or high quality and low reach (MVR). I believe that the next few weeks will see us take big strides towards winning that battle. Revenue is an after thought. Fingers crossed.
Also, I wonder if MGK and other acts have been merged into Wireless Connect rather than as stand alone acts. Just a theory....
I'm not convinced that these are leaked names. ASAP Rocky and Cardi B were announced as acts for Wireless prior to it being cancelled so is it not more likely that the journalist made a mistake? It's very possible they are still playing Wireless Connect but I'm not treating this as a leak. Why would Music Week know???
Looks amazing. I cant wait for this. I think, at its heart, this is what Melody do well high quality productions. Which is the background of SH and AM.
Haha - sold on your optimism.
Oh come on, 1 billion views. I get the point but It's not the moon landings!
@TheBadBat. I'm intrigued by your previous prophecies with some success and some failure. I'm aware that you made a couple of predictions recently, some of which have expired, what's you're feeling, delays or the tea leaves falling incorrectly?
Hi Mel, do we know that Melody have been talking to Glastonbury? I'd missed that.
One thing I will say is that it's very different audiences.
Looking forward to the Bad Bat's feeling manifesting today!
Even on the same day?
The team who run a large chunk of Glastonbury's nightlife have launched a VR festival. Fatboy Slim and some other decent acts are on the line up. Competition is ramping.

Haha I was just thinking that's one of the best tweets theyve done!
Thanks for sharing. That seems significant.
