Share predictions are annoying and are ALWAYS wrong but then so is arguing about it. Changing the subject, I went in PC world and John Lewis and no VR worth note. Carphone warehouse also scaled down their in store VR section. Ive been baffled by the lack of advertising since the launch of the Go, the only theory I have is that this is the warm up for the Santa Cruz.

I didn't rate the analysis in the article, I felt it was click bait and I notice 2 or 3 similarly entitled articles from unknown (to me) sources. These numbers aren;t being reported by anyone particularly credible (that I know of anyway) So it wouldn't surprised me if it was cobblers. That said, the numbers make sense.

Also, Q2 of a calendar year is Apr, May, June, the Go didn't release until May and then full retail release wasn;t until June so, if it is true, it's decent sales as it;s not a true quarter.

The Rift sold 800,000 in 2017 I think, PS 2,000,000. If these numbers are accurate you'd forecast a full year number somewhere between the two; but who knows with some advertising, momentum and a decent christmas.

Despite posting it, I think we should wait for a more credible source before taking these as read.

Oculus Go made an estimated 289,000 shipments in Q2 2018, which helped major headset sales grow by almost 40% compared to the first quarter. But, excluding the Oculus Go, major headset sales were down 50% in the first half of 2018 compared to the same time last year, SuperData. Not bad, Q2 should be more interesting.

Optimist, you have always been consistent in your criticism of Melody's timelines, and fair enough, they haven't stuck to they have set out. I would just say don't forget the NDA's. My view is that they had an original timeline and told the market, this was then kicked to touch when they signed an NDA with FB. We know that we are still under it, this excites me as something is a brewing (Cruz and full launch IMO).

Loads of big buisnesses have one warehouse to service the whole EU. That might change!

Personally, I think it's down to the number of headsets in circulation and the number of countries in which it's available. There were some stats released prior to the launch of the Go and the number in circulation was way behind what was expected. Then you really need to strip out gaming headsets. The Go may change that but I get the impression it's not flying off the shelves yet. The Go is a game changer but it needs time gain traction. I've always been suspicious that the Santa Cruz was due so shortly after the Go and my theory was that the Go is a test or a learning venture rather than a profit making device. It's interesting that there has been no overt advertising. I totally agree that everything is in place, and the product is impressive, we just now need VR to take hold with the general public and I think that will be driven by headset capability/price.

Out of interest, could anyone who attended the recent AGM confirm how many attended?

I don't want to make any price predictions but IMO the four main factors will be: 1. China launch (coming soon) 2. New headset launches (Santa Cruz later this year) 3. Live shows 4. VR headset sales figures Assuming the above 4 are successful, we should see multiple pence bounce each time.

The-Oracle still posts on Twitter, looks like they still have skin in the game. The standard of posts has dropped since launch, however there are some useful post in amongst the predictions, 'here we go's' and agenda's. The higher the standard of research and insight shared on here the better for everyone, well most people anyway! I ran a mini/subtle focus group with a bunch of mates over the weekend. 7 people, late 20's early 30's, gig going music fans. each had a go on Melody on the Oculus (Kasabian + Royal Blood) feedback was very positive, lots of wows and better than expected. Negative comments were focused on the quality of the recording and a couple stated they felt a bit sick. I think we've concluded that the video quality is down to the headset and will undoubtly improve, I'm sure it will. Like I say, feedback was overwhelming positive and people keen to see live streamed gigs.

Just noticed the share price on LSE. I assume, given yesterday’s technical issues, this is an error otherwise we can all retire!

I remember someone a while back mentioning that they thought Gorillaz might be the first live gig due to the fact they’ve always push tech boundaries. Makes a lot of sense with this spot. Gorillaz would be a solid edition.
