It wasn't so long ago that Bruker took over Hain Diagnostics and they have been seeking to build the diagnostics part of the business, so they would be an obvious match as we are now partnered with Bruker assuming the sales stack up. It would not surprise me if Novacyt were the subject of a bid.

We have a still have a big speciality chemical and pharmaceutical industry in the UK together with expertise. I am sure they will be able to produce whatever reagants are required. Lack of time and the need for urgency is the biggest problem. The government should have been acting on this earlier this year. Now they are playing catch up and are short of key supplies. Had they shut the borders and reacted faster earlier it could have bought us weeks and probably months to get prepared.

Agreed 100,000 tests a day won't be enough. I thought that when he said it. They will need a testing capacity of at least 500,000 a day and even then it would take months to test all the population.

You are tempting fate saying that!!! GGP has risen very sharply over the last year and has a lot of smaller investors who may not be as sticky as institutional investors. Fortunately the orebody is derisked, just expect some delay and this is a buying opportunity. If it weren't for covid 19 share price would be much higher.

I think it is naive to assume covid 19 will not disrupt GGP and Newcrest's operations but it will be temporary. Look at what has closed here in the UK, everything non essential. As to whether it will cause delays getting the men, machines and equipment needed for the exploration decline?? Whatever happens the orebody will still be there and gold is set to soar due to the financial storm created by the virus, but I expect some delay.

Can't complain too much!! Novacyt has been one of the best performing shares in the world over the last few months. The last update mentioned news would be coming from the US soon. I'm certain Novacyt will be able to overcome the hurdle of sourcing more raw ingredients and finding partners to manufacture under licence.

Why is this not 6 or 7p then? Because we are at the beginning of a global pandemic and markets have slumped. Sentiment is changing and lockdowns create risk and delay. A lot of mining firms are stopping all non essential work, just look at RNS after RNS in the mining sector. There is no guarantee Newcrest can continue operations at Havieron and Telfer. Newcrest will want to continue, but there is no guarantee local or national government won't introduce a lockdown on all non essentisl work. The medium term prospects for both Greatland and gold are excellent, but right now the immediate outlook has changed due to Covid 19.

I did warn before this could affect operations. Sooner this virus disappears the better.

Depends on the ability of Novacyt to ramp up production, Novacyt themselves can only produce so many test kits the key is to partner with other manufacturers to mass produce Novacyt test kits under licence. I would say the demand for test kits is almost limitless, the market is vast and global, no manufacturer alone will be able to meet all the demand. There is also going to be a massive market for antibody/antigen testing and I hope Novacyt will look to enter that market. £3 for now. If Novacyt become testing market leader we could be looking at a market cap in the billions. I also think this outbreak is going to last longer than people imagine, 12 to 18 months.

They certainly will not be having a placing. They are awash with cash, orders have to be paid upfront.

The RNS mentions other distribution agreements are pending as well as an update on the US market. That could be very important as they mentioned an agreement to manufacture in the US previously under an OEM agreement. US is a very big healthcare market and wealthy.

I believe very little of what the government say and think they have managed this coronavirus outbreak very badly.
They say shutting borders won't keep the virus out, but that is clearly wrong and the borders are still open. We have imported scores of infected people from all over the world and seeded the virus across the UK. They claim to have a stockpile of ppe, yet you see nurses in paper masks and bin bags, one had borrowed her daughter's goggles from chemistry class. They have orders for ventilators, but it will be months before they arrive. They will pay 80% of your income, but by June at the earliest and there is no mechanism to process the payments. They say there will be no shortage of food but there was an interesting article in the FT today with the chief exec of Nestle saying how complex food production is and how easily supply chains can be disrupted.

There aren't many shares in issue. These are very strange times. Hold on to your golden tickets. This has already multibagged and will do so again. Novacyt have got the right product at the right time. Very lucky to be invested here.

That is because they dont want loads of profit warnings causing markets to tank. Totally pointless, markets have to adjust and will recover.

Shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted. The government has totally mismanaged this. If they had grounded all flights and shut all borders at the outset they might have been able to keep infections under control. Instead they fed us some rubbish about "it would only delay the virus a couple of days" which is complete nonsense. They should have isolated the ill and vulnerable at home at the outset and left the bulk of the economy running. They should have prioritised testing and sought supplies of ppe and other equipment. Everything they are doing is too little, too late. They say they have the PPE for NHS staff yet the press show nurses dressed in bin bags. We are being lied to. This country does not have the discipline and organisational capability to manage this virus in the way that the Chinese and Koreans have done. The elderly and vulnerable will bear the brunt of this incompetent government and everyone else will suffer too.

There is no such thing as panic buying. The government has told people they may need to isolate themselves for 14 days if they become ill and the elderly and vulnerable need to stay at home for months. So what are those people supposed to do for food? It was entirely forseeable that people would stock up, the government has simply failed to prepare for it.

Nyse have already said they will not close and other major markets will follow. We cannot just shut everything down and you cannot close most things indefinitely anyway (in which case it is pointless shutting them in the first place) the economic harm could be greater than the damage from the virus. Government should be isolating the vulnerable and keep the rest of the economy moving, boost testing and boost hospitals and expedite production of PPE, anti viral drugs and vaccines. The animal testing needs for vaccines to be skipped, go straight to human testing on high risk individuals.
