Whilst not directly relevant to here, it's quite something reading about the extra pressure that COVID will be putting on patients that survive, and in turn the NHS for a long time to come. I knew about the potential organ damage but the article sets out all sorts of other issues. I therefore think it's perhaps going to be even more desirable, than it obviously is, for governments to stop people getting to the hospitalisation stage, and not just surviving if they get there. Since, even if they survive in hospital, they may have long term problems that put more strain on the NHS for a long time.

Not worried about Acacia or any PI selling in the event of good news.
If they've got a treatment for COVID that works then this will be one of the hottest properties on any market and the volume should go through the roof.
If they show good impact in COPD first, that could make this a company worth £50m-200m on its own, and in that situation....who'd want to sell without getting the COVID results having seen good results on COPD!
Everyone always becomes worried about sellers at the lows but this sentiment quickly fades if/when the news comes (or even if it doesn't and the price starts rising) and turns into the exact opposite ;)

If it doesn't gap up on good news then it'll be an almighty bunfight to buy. I'd increase my position 5 or 10 fold if that happened....
Of course I don't think there's much chance of that ;)

Buying does seem to be gradually increasing so far. IG data showing a fractional turn in that direction too.

32.8p was the absolute lowest but that was only for a fraction of a moment outlier (someone getting fleeced).

If you look at the more detailed view on that bit 33-33.5p was the lowest sell for the majority of the time.

As I say, I think the situation is exactly the same, in fact I seem to remember posting exactly the same as what I'm going to post now, back then, just before it went on a big run upwards. Which is that it doesn't appear like Acacia are selling now and now appears to be dribs and drabs of PI trading. This being supported by the fact the IG data is showing a good percentage of PI sells:

If history continues repeating itself, we ran out of sellers, and over the course of a few days the data swung towards the buy side and we began to rise swiftly upwards.

This is very much like the last time at around this price. There were a few sellers at the lows but not many, and there doesn't appear to be much this time, so a good chance it will gradually shift from selling to buying.
Let's face it I imagine the majority of us aren't lining up to sell at the lows, and some will be buying a bit more, whilst others not emotionally (or already) invested take a chance to buy the lows.
Probably purely depends on if Acacia are still dumping - based on the trading I'm not sure there's any evidence of that at the moment - so just got to wait and see. Decent chance the trading and sentiment will turn around fairly shortly.

Do you have to keep posting the same garbage over and over every day. Even the scaremongers are less annoying.

If I had to guess, I'd say they stopped in the past day or two, just as they did last time when it got to 35p, and it's now feels very much like the same trading as back then, with low sentiment and panicky PIs. It took a few days of levelling off for the trading to swing gradually towards more heavy on the buy side and things rose. I'd guess they want things to rise back again before dumping rather than getting less and less for their money (or the wildcard option is they'll just hold the rest for results).

Obviously they're nonsense but it would be rather delicious if an RNS showing decent impact in COPD landed tomorrow morning ;)

My plan, assuming success, would be not to sell a single bean and see how it goes.
Regardless of any initial rise you can be absolutely certain that success in the COVID trial will start to filter out into UK and worldwide media.
That attention won’t just be for hours, it’ll be days or weeks minimum, and that kind of attention would draw a whole raft of new buyers that have never heard of this.
So no point selling on the first day just to watch the world wake up to the new hope!

CW25 - if the results are good this should be pretty much the hottest property on the markets. With a drug showing good results in treating COPD or COVID that's easily administered, distributed, and very safe. That'll be worldwide news if the latter.
All the research everyone keeps finding only continues to add weight to the fact SNG would have to be very unlucky for their various trials not to show similar good effects like the masses of other interferon beta trials out there.
Sentiment is all an illusion as there's just a handful of posters being regularly negative now because they sold up and don't want to take any risk (and trying to turn every conversation towards gettings others to do the same). For every one of those there's lots more who're excited and looking forward to the news which could come at any moment now. Even a mate of mine (who sensibly doesn't do these boards) bought into this on Friday and he never normally does this sort of AIM share!
We all know the risks. We all know the potential rewards. We all know the chance of success is good (whilst not guaranteed) based on all the existing scientific evidence (and the SP having pulled back due to a flipper like Acacia makes absolutely no different to any of that). Just got to hope for a very small amount of luck now.

America just posted another record......leapt up to over 70,000 new COVID cases yesterday.

You can add XEL to that list too (as previously described I remember being fooled by it tanking on the morning of a great RNS much to my bemusement).

Spot on. A lot of his stock picking has been vindicated and the collapse was more reflective of the erratic blind way money is piled into things these days (and then pulled out). The net result of investor panic, a tanked SP, and then even worse returns as the administrator squandered the value that was still left despite all of this. Can't help thinking investors would be a lot better off if investment funds had minimum terms or limits to the amount that can be sold within 6 months. Instead of the prospect of administrators.
