NoahsArk, sorry for delay in getting back but I have my voluntary work on Sundays and Tuesdays.
Used to be able to get live WEC on utube as a few individuals broadcast it. Sadly no more and would have to wait about 2 weeks for the formal release of the race.
However, motorsport.com broadcast it live with no commercials and I think it's £3.99 a month. I watch it on my laptop but if you wanted you could screen it on your TV instead. Lovely not to have adverts.

Thanks for the update. I watched most of the Spa 6 hours and love the closeness of the racing. These guys in the GT classes are on the limit for the duration and literally finished seconds apart. You can see their driving tactics as they approach and exit Eau Rouge and go up the Kemel straight. No silly DRS or overtake boost, just pure racing and none of the dangerous blocking and weaving. Le Mans in 4 weeks may be one very sleepless night.

End of the share chat guys, it's the weekend. Aston have pole and second fastest in the GTE Pro class at the Spa 6 hours. Lights go green 12.30pm Saturday. They lead the GT world championship.

Proper racing reconvenes at Spa this weekend with 3 factory Vantages against Porsche and Ferrari. Aston lead the GT Pro championship and are 2nd and 3rd in the GT Am championship. Practise today and race day tomorrow. No DRS here.

Until Moers gives us an update on DBX orders and production, we're all having a great time guessing about the future share price. Indications on the restyled Vantage would also be very nice to hear.
But we do know that 2021 should see the Valkyries find homes, as well as the Speedsters, balance of Goldfinger DB5s and remainder of Zagato pairings. Something in the range of half a billion pounds with presumably very attractive margins.

Some of the highly publicized tech on pricier cars is quite old hat.
I have a gun sight from a Spitfire, still in it's original box, that used the principle of the HUD. You can set the illuminated circle on the glass to match the wingspan of a particular aircraft at a pre designated range. This was the pilot's firing point, assuming he'd made allowances for deflection.
We remember Vettel's dominance in the era of blown diffusers. When the spitfire first flew, RJMitchell had allowed the exhausts to come straight out of the engine cowling, at right angles to the slipstream. He engineered some proper exhaust stubs angled towards the slipstream that gave an immediate speed increase.

Yes 3300. I would have launched to build the order book also. I remember a lot of the road testers who Utube these days when they were starting out and they were next to useless then. I think they will make a criticism to appear to show they have a voice and are in tune with the market. A little surprised the sill less entry and wrap around doors didn't get more attention. Scuffed sills and mucky trouser legs we can all relate to and it bugs me to give a lift and find my sills have been scratched.

Two points about that particular review.

It's a very individual choice whether you prefer touch touchscreens or not. My XF has one and it's the one thing I would change. On anything but a billiard smooth surface you struggle to access it effectively. My brother's A6 uses a consul mounted wheel to control the function and this is far more efficient.

Switchgear and associated tech. This has been a criticism of Astons for some years since the tie up with Mercedes. Thay supply previous generation equipment. Hopefully, Moers can persuade his old bosses that it's in their interests to supply the latest kit since they own 5% of AML and probably more in the future. Why hold back sales when they may be accessing this sector of the marketplace personally in the fullness of time.

It's a shame that this is going to rumble on and take attention away from the racing and the change of Racing Point to Aston Martin next year.
On the racing theme, the FIAWEC recommences at Spa this coming weekend with 4 Vantages participating. In the Pro class the 95 car leads the championship! This is currently one of 3 "works" cars run by Prodrive.

I'm sure a hybrid will come but AML need sales and profits to turn the business around. Delaying the model further for the inclusion of a hybrid option doesn't make financial sense. They are still a small player and needed to place the DBX into the market.
Interestingly a lot of the utube reviewers are ex Top Gear/5th Gear trying to make a living on the back of new model releases. I think most of us know the ones to read and listen to.

Getting to be a little silly now. Reading that Racing Point had illegally drawn inspiration from the Mercedes design of rear brake. Does anyone remember the first appearance of a barge board or shark fin or aero mirror or F duct. Everyone copies so the question is how do you define an original thought. This will end up with the lawyers and a long, protracted case with plenty of appeals. F1 does not need this. How do you forget a design that you have legally obtained.

But teams who run Mercedes parts are paying for that privilege. It's a commercial agreement that benefits the team. The agreement covers engines, gearboxes, suspension and up until this year, brake ducts. Mercedes did not do anything wrong. Racing Point chose not to use the rear ducts that they had details of last year. They chose to use them this year. The argument is really over how can you forget the design details you are already familiar with.

Wolff reckons there are teams protesting Racing Point because the pink cars are now faster than their own. He says the brake duct designs were from 2019 when they were not listed as parts you cannot use, but not actually used on the car. Racing Point decided to use these 2019 brake ducts in 2020, but in answer to his critics, Wolff says how can you unlearn something you already know.
Wolff is not popular with the new Daimler CEO. He doesn't like Wolff's ancilliary interests and feels he should be totally devoted to F1. Wolff can no longer walk through the CEO's door like he could with his predecessor. Times have certainly changed and the new relationship is very different.

Not just the implication of Mercedes F1 in this so called scandal with Racing Point, Mercedes haven't agreed the new structure of the revenue stream, saying they would be the biggest losers. Only 4 more days to sort things out. Naturally they carry a lot of clout which is why manufacturers supply engines to other teams as it strengthens their negotiating hand.
"Apparently", Vettel has signed a $15 million dollar with Racing Point but the news won't be released for some weeks. In the same vein, Wolff has told Hamilton that the money he is demanding just isn't available. This is an ongoing story as Wolff has said some time ago that he would be negotiating at $25 million. One big game of chess!

Yes, I've had a good laugh at that nom de plume. Seems about spot on. I respected him early on but I'm afraid since he talked up the share price for his own benefit he's forgotten to maximise return for the shareholders and plodded the easy path to easy riches for himself.
