I think McLaren F1 have resolved their funding.
Another rumour circulating concerns Alonso or Vettel to the Aston F1 team. Now would that be the ex Mercedes F1 team. Although the budget cap is coming in, it doesn't apply to drivers, nor I believe to key team personnel.

You know, one day perhaps Paul could paint an Aston Martin. Wouldn't that look something in a gallery or a prime Aston showroom or even their headquarters.

That would be out of my price range as well. I wonder what the margins are on these short runs.

Lovely thought, but as Paul says it could dilute residuals. But there's other models, like the 3S, Mk 111 and DB2/4. How far do you continue down this line? Plus they'd still be hugely expensive.

It's not a rate of interest you'd prefer but nor is 12% on $250 million the difference that sinks the company.
Stroll's statement yesterday was for similar volumes between DBX and Sports/GT models. I'm thinking about 5000 models for the full year, including very profitable 007 DB5s and Zagato pairs. These two limited editions total £180 million stand alone turnover. End of year turnover around £950 million.
The big prize is next year with hopefully no Corona virus to damage business. If DBX production matches Sports/GTs, then plus speedster and Valkyrie could see turnover around between £1.8 and £2.0 Billion. AND for once, good margins. Mercedes will be watching early indications.

Having a look at last year's figures and the vehicle volume was 5,800 whilst reckoning this year is going to be about 5,000, although this year's unit price will be appreciably higher. Considering the shut down it will still be quite a performance, so long as full production of the DBX is maintained.

It looks as though Valkyrie deliveries will be from early next year, although Zagato and 007 DB5 production will benefit this year's turnover. The Speedster will commence deliveries in 2021. Between the Valkyrie and Speedster about £450 million will be contributed to 2021 turnover. Maintaining high production of the DBX would add approximately £800 million. I read somewhere there will be a mid term revamp of DB11 and Vantage but what that may do to figures I have no idea.

It appears Gaydon has yet to recommence production and I read that AML employed quite a few agency staff. Stroll seems committed to ending this which must give a considerable cost saving.

They are talking full production of DBX as of now and full year sales fairly even between DBX and sports/GTs. This would suggest full year sales around 5000 units. 007 DB5 production underway .

If the reference is to the Moers' appointment as CEO, this news happened last month and the proximity of the 2nd quarter results to him taking his post was commented on many times.

All I'm doing is reading what's out there and trying to connect some dots. Mercedes are adamant about saving money and they have had their eye on cutting their F1 involvement and perhaps just being an engine supplier. Mercedes have also just pinched ROKit which has gone down badly with Williams, who also use Mercedes engines and with whom Wolff has a 5% interest.
But I think the focus is on Wolff and Stroll and Mercedes F1 and AML. My interest is the long term strength of the AML brand and it may be very interesting what plays out over the next few days and weeks.

It is all fluid in F1, so positions can change very quickly. If Mercedes did agree a share swap with Stroll it wouldn't he costing them money. But it would maintain their brand on the grid and give the AML price a huge boost. This is just one scenario. But it's also interesting that Hamilton and Bottas don't yet have drives for 2021. It's logical that whatever transpires, everything has to be in place before a team commits to a £40 million driver.

Everything is fluid in F1.

An interesting article on the direction of the Mercedes F1 team. Suggesting Mercedes could exchange Storll's shares in AML for shares in the F1 team and Wolff/Stroll be co owners of Mercedes "works" F1 team. This would give Mercedes a large holding in AML at the same time ensuring they maintain a "works" F1 presence. What would become of the Racing Point team?

Welcome Kibkalm, it's also worth pointing out the profitable, short runs of continuation and celebration cars. Like the nineteen pairs of Zagatos, DB5 007s and Speedster models. Plus the 125 Valkyries and 25 race Valkyries. They may he small numbers but they collectively add over £525 million of profitable turnover. If we were at the beginning of a financial year and full DBX production there would be another £750 million. This is before any of the volume sports and GT cars. So if Aston Martin can get the quality and the costs under control, the future should be bright.

Laurence Stroll stated earlier this month that DBX orders stretched into next year and that half the orders were from new customers to Aston Martin, definitely an area they need to build upon. Bentley and Lamborghini SUV sales total more than half their production, something AML will be trying to replicate.

It's pleasing that although the figures will undoubtedly be dire, the new CEO takes his position not so many hours later. If there's a dip in the share price it's likely to be short lived.

The report that was posted this morning about Andy Cowell potentially joining AML makes interesting reading, but there's still a lot up in the air. We still don't know about Mercedes' long term future in F1 and if they were to pull out but continue to supply engines, their likely favoured team might be McLaren. Have AML made,an offer to Cowell to oversea the V6 hybrid development for the Valhallah, with half an eye on it's use in their F1 team.

Pippa, I always remember a few years ago the CEO made a speech about his desire to return upto two thirds of future profits back to the shareholders. This was before the dividend had been reinstated. As a consequence the share price hit 91p, but little did we know it triggered a large share bonus for himself. Since that time the share price has done absolutely nothing and yet the Board have rewarded themselves to excess. They are too comfortable and too unaccountable.

Good morning my friend. I haven't posted on here for a good month or two. Including the letters sent to Lloyds in May where they said all correspondence would be replied to, since the beginning of April I have written 22 letters and only received one template reply from our CEO that did not address half my questions. One of the questions I have asked several times is why the £600 million of the suspended share buy back, from profits in the 2018 trading year, haven't been paid as a dividend. No one replies to this point.

I have subsequently cashed in half my holding with LLoyds and started trading other shares. They are without doubt the most depressing stock I have ever held. I will let you know how my new investments do shortly, but I felt I've ridden this horse long enough and they don't really care about their shareholders.
