Hi Walkersworld, I'm good and nice to hear from you. I keep looking in and wondering how long Lloyd's continues to be a dog. Sadly most other shares are although I've recouped a bit but still wellmdown because of the pandemic. I keep following classic car prices and dreaming about whether to run a classic as my daily as you can find some lovely ones where enthusiasts have done the work but will never recover the money they've spent.

There is no way you would get a dividend for shares you once held. That would dilute the dividend even further and Lloyd's don't give damn about shareholders. There's also the share buy back/dividend from 2018 they haven't paid out/spent. A matter of a paltry £600 million.

I would suggest that with the work AML did with the electric Rapide then the new floor for the DBX has already been configured for electrification.

Something of a blood bath out there, but also a buying opportunity if you have the nerve. FTSE, CAC and DAX all heavily down. Does anyone remember what the FTSE once was. How the mighty have fallen.
Trying to work out some numbers after last night for 2021.
DBX, Speedster and Valkyrie: £1.15B. (Seems Speedster and Valkyrie deliveries will run into 2022). DBX 4,500 units.
DBS, DB11 and Vantage: 4,000 units for £0.6B.
Turnover: £1.75B.
Deliberately kept the figures down, particularly for GT/Sports as the refresh might not impact on next year's figures.
It's still a very healthy position.

Ferrari capitalisation is about 12x turnover. Their turnover this year ended was €3.35 Billion. But their profit runs at about 23%. Bit like apple in some ways. Just imagine if AML started heading this way, albeit it's a very long road.

What price will we open in the morning?

Moers does not see Aston as competition for Mercedes. They are more luxurious.
DBX orders sold out to end first quarter and new orders matching full production. Therefore current order book in region of 2000 units.

Dimi, I'm really sorry that you missed this opportunity. Hope you achieve success quickly with your other holdings. There'll be another opportunity with AML.

Current number of shares 1.824 Billion.
Proposed new total, including those issued to Mercedes to increase their stake from 5% to 20% will be 2.659 Billion.
Pro rata share value would be 75p from this, but projected profitability not in this.
Great news for medium term, particularly interesting to hear about refresh of Sports/GT models, plus mid engine model and DBX derivatives. Valkyrie deliveries from H2 next year.
Only thing I haven't found is any reference to size of DBX order book.

People buy a more expensive Lamborghini which is an Audi under the skin.

Still a little time away from launch with an estimated price from £200,000, but it appears the Ferrari SUV will have a third door, i.e, suicide door like an earlier new mini. Interesting that it seems a range of engines will be offered, including V12, which makes me wonder if AML will put the DBS engine in the DBX and create a true performance rival to the Hurus. On the other hand, AMG have already extracted over 700 bhp from the twin turbo V8, so perhaps the heavier engine isn't needed.
The only reason I mention all this is that Ferrari are only moving slowly towards hybrid, so do low volume manufacturers avoid the penalties that the large manufacturers are facing if they don't reduce CO2. Sales of V12s in Ferraris have never been stronger. Interesting conundrum.

It's almost 12 weeks since Herr Moers joined AML and walked through his office door at Gaydon. 12 weeks and essentially not a comment. We know he has an eye for quality, hence stopping the DBX line until he was satisfied.
We've had the restart of the Gaydon line, but no fanfare and no statement regarding numbers for the sports/GT cars.
Moers only real appearance was at Le Mans when he witnessed AML' s best performance for many years. Long may the sports car programme continue and not be cancelled due to the focus on F1.
Herr Moers has quite a salary package. 850,000 Euros and upto twice performance related bonus. Long term bonus of upto 300% plus compensation settlement for leaving his previous employ of 1,000,000 Euros.
It all begs the question as to what is going on. With Lamborghini releasing some amazing sale and order figures and being a very direct competitor with their Urus, are AML deliberately holding back some very salient news because they have an even bigger announcement. It would have been usual for a new CEO to have had something to say 12 weeks in to a new job.

The existing sponsorship of Red Bull will be substantial. AML get some very good advertising from this as their name is very prominent on the sides and rear wing and often when Horner is being interviewed. Plus the Red Bull is a winning team and the cameras often follow Verstappen during a race. What difference will the cost be when sponsoring "their" team, who knows?

Does anyone remember the warming and heartfelt offer from the Board that all questions submitted but not read out during the AGM would receive replies.
Knowing how companies like to lose letters and emails and generally state they never received inquiries in the first place, I wrote five different emails with five different questions back in May.
So far and this is five months since they were submitted, I have not received one reply. Nada, niet, non, nein.

There seems to be something of a sliding scale with regard to deposits on high end vehicles. The more rare and limited the production, the higher the deposit. Bearing in mind that they are being built to a customer's specification and potentially very individual in some aspects. A broad brush suggests between 10% and 25%, but Paul will know far better than most of us. I was looking at some reports covering Porsches through to Valkyries and this was the deposit spread that clients were asked to pay.
Whatever the figure for the DBX, it is a help for cashflow.
