Loving the quotation of the Kremlin as if it means anything. Anytime the Putin regime talks we all know it's a lie. You may as well quote Mr Blobby - at least he has integrity. How were the Company to know? Have you seen the advice they were given? No, of course not. You are talking both without knowing what actually happened, and from a position of hindsight. So you haven't actually got a point with any foundation to put to us. Time to move on.

It certainly has a worth. But remember, this is a retail forum. We're talking about worth to retail shareholders. Though actually we really care about return, not worth. And that subtle but important difference is where things often go wrong.

It's all very well there being value in the ground but AIM history is littered with companies where they didn't actually fail (though lots did) but in the end it wasn't the retail shareholders that benefited.

Unfortunately, and it pains me to say this because I am at least 85% down - probably more - I fear Spikeyj is more right than wrong. "Worthless" is probably a bit strong. But it seems to me that those official-looking research reports (sorry I forget the author's name) were misleading at best, and the rampers like Mac and Tillywhiz were part of a coordinated effort to mislead us all.

But, the Company is not dissolved, delisted, taken private, sold for peanuts, etc. There is still hope here IMHO.

How is that great? By his calcs that's £1.5Bn to £2Bn. Yeah it'd be ok but we're already at £941.71m. I want more than a 10-14p share price!

While I think the price was too low in hindsight, we need to remember the extremely serious implications of a failed placing. And the company has to take what they are being advised seriously too. There's always going to be caution taken when deciding on the price. 4p wouldn't have made a huge difference in the resulting dilution anyway.

Luckily I use AJBell for my SIPP which is where my QED shares are so put my application for the retail offer in there.

It would be classed by any qualified financial expert as totally uninvestable due to the massive risk. At this stage we can only go on what we know about the war and the track record of the BoD. Neither are good. Though I do commend the BoD for at least doing the smart thing and keeping the company profile low so Putin's cronies don't send in their preferred choice of local crime boss to manage our Russian assets for us. Hopefully Putin will stop sending underfed peasants to loot washing machines and execute POWs and our company then benefits from some sort of peace.

I see this news only helping to maintain the status quo and perhaps some incremental gains. I don't expect there'll be a fundamental shift in the situation due to the vast tracts of land and lack of government authority in the northern areas. But at least this should stop the militants pushing closer to our mine.

L&G shares are called "Legal & General Group plc (LGEN) Ordinary 2.5p Shares". They are worth a lot more than 2.5p.
