I think in the UK we need equal rights for white straight males these days.

We must have had 4 or 5 chats about div's the last weak and what ex div is and yet still ALLl the posters here are wrong yet again.

holding shares today ex div day 14th or 22nd April it's shocking people trade and are on here with zero clue what they are doing. But yet feel the need to post incorrect advice about div's !!!

As I am not regulated I am NOT telling people here what day you need to have had the shares by, but FFS it's shocking.

Top up was isa renewal day and £6.20 not now.

As below ex div day will see a drop so nothing to see here.

Buying now seems too high risk to me. I put £40k into isa's start April and got the proper dips, but did not buy RR.

I went for some high yield stocks while the markets choppy, lgen and BP and got them cheap with very high div yields.

SP will drop the price of the div normally, it's hard to get excited by a 1% div to be honest when the markets still down 5%

And RR is £1.05 p down on it's highs so say about 12% down. see how a div @ 1% makes no odds.

unlike Lgen which is my only blue share today but then offers a 10% div a week ago. I get about £13k div PA on those.

but you get really zero gains although I did buy 20k for my ISA at £2.22 so seen a gain on these plus the 10% div.

Keep guessing as the 22nd April is NOT RR EX div date.

Even now if tariffs came in, the UK looks the best place to be with a 10% one vs the EU at 20%

So any exporting by the UK wins over any other country ,a plus for exporting imo ! you can under cut every one and sell more ! it's costs no more to export the 10% is passed onto the geb public, unless the USA disty wants to swallow that up.

how can you even say that ? if the tariffs come back in and most countries go into recession we might not see an upturn for 2 years so buying now could be the worst thing you can do.

do i wish i trimmed my stocks, yes, 99% people wish that, so if you were in the 1% you did well to sell up.

And it is interesting to see what people who have large holding and older are going to do.

If I were in my 30's I would not care. but I want to retire in 12 months and I have put this back 1 year due to this drop.

I am £150k down, do I want to risk being £300k down when I am due to retire in 11 months.

I did sell some at 802 which was nice, and the other day at £7.20 and people said why did I sell at £7.20 and panic but todays price is £6.83. So selling at £7.20 was a good call. but I don't feel like I am sitting on enough cash still.

For me I will prob sell 40% of my pot in 2 months and take the gamble of real money in cash just sitting there.

For 1% and not understanding the market or div dates I would not buy anything.

So what happens in 87 days when Trump tariffs come back in, another 15% WW stock market crash ?

How can we trade and make money the next 6 months ? when we might risk a 15% market crash within 3 months !

Sell in 2 months and actually hope for a crash to buy back in ! but on the other hand no tariffs in 3 months and the markets recover 10% and you lose out ?
