I only look at the SP 1st of every month and then count my winning every month :-)

I think todays markets are all med to long term holds. Day trading is harder and harder than ever and I stopped doing that 5 years ago. Ai and people like IAG win vs small fry day trading now days. esp if you stop loss, as they will bounce you out every time.

I now look at 6 months to 2 years holds and that works very well for me, I only need a 8% PA return to be very happy.

15% makes me crazy lol happy.

All depends what risks you want, what age you are I guess and now big your pot is.

I could have done nothing and put all my pot in RR but very few go 100% all in on one stock. but it would have been the best option lol

If RR drops below 10% PA gains I'll sell it all simple as that really lets see what feb 26 brings to the party.

yes and for me BP has been a mega share.I was buying sub £3 then sold up at £4.65 55% up plus divs.

did sell early as they went to £5.20 !!! but 55% up is 55% up.

now been buying again at £3.40 odd and collecting great divs again, I I think we will see £4.

pretty good share to trade imo. I always buy this one sub £4 seems to make money and a nice div.

HI was busy all weekend and away at Donnington Classics, here all week for a pint bar Thursday.

Shame as it opened great and now in the red but FTSE still up !

Did buy more this AM early doors so seems the right move selling ex div and buying back.

Alas_Smith I don't have kids so I just transfer my ISA to my wife and no TAX to pay I think.

Place in the Alps is about £700k I guess some where nice. At 70+ I would just Air B and B it, less hassle and less money.

I doubt i will want to risk a fall abroad over 70 years old myself. My friends just retired in the Alps @ 55 already has 2 broken ribs ! imho 70+ is not ideal to start a life of sking. but that's just me :-)

T9Rat you say "easy" but no one seems to do it, every you tube channel, TAX adviser or financial adviser goes for Sipp wealth and always state you are better off putting money in a Sipp over ISA, I tend to disagree and hence this is where I am now, and happy I went this way.

I have gone for ISA wealth and hold about £220k in my Sipp which was way more than I planned to have in it. Already taken the 25% TAX free from it. But my stock choices did better than expected. I keep some as cash in there also.

Never seen an financial adviser do what I am doing, but I have never seen a rich adviser ! funny that, they only want to sell you funds in a sipp !!! a joke imo.

Any sniff of bad news Ai trading sells off. dips the last few years are always over done now. As I said I think it's Ai panic, they say humans panic but Ai seems to panic sell more !

Nope just a few divs still in a normal fund account but those will be moved within a few years.

My plan was always to pay NO TAX from the age of 55, it makes a big difference. people seem to build up massive sipp pots, not sure why. mine is just to fill the 55 to 67 gap, but it's done so well it will exceed that date now, but then I hope the personal allowance will go up from 2028 onwards so can take more TAX free.

I will be richer in retirement vs when I was working due to paying no TAX.

Also now stamp duty increase to pay for which will drop them again imo.

but then we will get an interest rate drop in May i guess.

I got a 17.6p drop so with waiting and buying today sub £2.35 I did beat ex divs prices selling before ex div day.

div was 15.3p

also a main reason I do this some times is to get my ave down as in one accounts it's £2.34 in another is £2.20

SO did not lower my ave this time round, i only bought back in the £2.34 ave account so the same ave there.

gives me a gap if I need to sell some later having a lower ave Knowing I can always sell some shares quick and be up on the sale. Really don't like over paying for Lgen. plus buying lower gives you that 10% div

always about snatching a few extra shares on this one for me while keeping ave buys low as possible.
