The A$8.4 million saving is at present a one off saving on the Guardian order. Whether the 21% discount continues or is now set (although base price may rise) going forward, and sells enough to continue with volume orders is not certain. Hence, best to treat it as a one off saving?

Only, or mainly, from those who have always been negative. The SP is up 16% since 10/12/2019 and is at its highest since March, just before the placing.

If this is bringing out all the derampers, imagine what it'll be like when the SP hits 6,8,10 or 14.16p (all time high). All doom and gloom I expect!

So, also if we are to believe it SEE is in danger of missing a target that isn't there for Fleet at H1. SEE has said before it expects the second half to be much busier than the first half and as at the CMD was sticking to its target of 27-30,000 Guardian installations by year end. As far as this goes, straight line graphs are misleading and will end up with the wrong conclusion.

I think people should reread the RNS from 06/11/2019. There is the proof there that SEE, comparatively expects to be very busy this calendar year. A company of SEEs size does go committing A$31.6 million on roughly 40,000 Guardian units if it does not expect to shift those units, delivered over the year, as that would be dead money if we were to believe that by year end SEE and its channel partners had not installed around 40,000 by 31/12/2020, the more it missed the target (to sell 40,000) the more dead money sat in some storeroom. Now, that would be commercial suicide for a company where some still have funding concerns!

The prediction is we will all, barring the resident shorter here whose moniker I have purposely forgot, be a lot wealthier this time next year. The reasons are -

1. At least two Aviation licencing deals, the first which may see breakeven this year, the second most definitely will take care of that which will finally put to bed any funding concerned.
2. At present SEE has 6 OEM's on its books. That will double at least, with existing and even (maybe) new OEM's increasing orders leading to an auto only order book in excess of A$1 billion. Bear in mind Kryptic Ken's reply to PMs recent LinkedIn Bosch post.
3. Installed units this time next year, Fleet, will be a minimum of 55,000 bearing in mind SEEs bulk order as announced in November, bringing with it those lovely recurring fees.
4. BdMS will clear up and make a valuable contribution.
5. Likewise Off Road and Rail with growing (Off Road) and guaranteed (Rail) revenue.

Taken together, SEE will be in an entirely different place to where we are now. If it amazingly happens quicker than expected, it's possible there will no longer be a SEE BB.

An A$8.4 Guardian reduction cost equates to a 21% unit cost reduction which means before the reduction the total cost of the units was A$40 million, which at (as hinted at) A$1,000 a unit is 40,000 to be delivered (fitted?) in the next calendar year.

What was the target guidance given???

It's possible but the same could be said of Continental as well and I doubt whether both have arrived at roughly the same place at the same time with either their own versions or with another DMS providers tech.

And if it's not SEEs tech, which other DMS provider has a very sizeable data bank of real time driving? If it's Bosch 'own tech, that would mean in no more than a year and a half its own in house tech had made massive advances since its aborted bid last year.

It's possible but I doubt it.

All 3 but in reverse order. I was tempted as it's Tesla but as is usual, regulation lags reality, is reactive rather than proactive, possibly always will be.

Tesla will continue to do what it does, and keep on missing the point, until regulation catches up. And, well, the driver has fallen for the hype from Tesla, which coupled with her being a sandwich short of a picnic, leads to situations like this, which ultimately could lead to an avoidable accident, Tesla?

Nothing that a robust, safety Driver Monitoring System couldn't fix.

Great post. I suppose the point is you get what you pay for. SEE, if it isn't already, is an IP company a la ARM - like. I think Aviation will also give us a big pointer to that shortly.

Unfortunately, I can't do that as I, amongst a growing number of posters, filter ColdFishShort and only ColdFishShort, I hate shorters and he's so obviously that and may be a SEYE investor to boot who doesn't like the fact that SEYE is a charade waiting to go up in smoke!

Indeed, great sentence and says it all. If people at another company believe it isn't difficult to find a solution in the Aviation market, as compared to the safety auto DMS market, then this is obviously a wind up and a continuation of the charade based in Sweden, of which it does an excellent job.

Part of the excitement amongst SEYE followers is due to the tie up as per Aviation which as far as I can see is a bit of a pipedream. And the pilot was of the Top Gun type which is an even bigger jump.

SEYE may sell the odd research camera to the German space program and a few more to NASA etc but that does not mean it has a chance in FFS or similar which I think was Buff's question and is a big jump from a research instrument (regardless of how many years it's been providing them) , bypassing FFS' (which looks to be a testing ground for in the sky) and directly into the c^^kpit. And SEYE knows that!

The recent Smart Eye promo video, for CES 2020?, is worth viewing for one reason alone. It showed a fighter pilot in what appeared to be a fighter jet, implying that SEYE tech may be in use in that domain. Defence aviation is again on a another level altogether, safety wise and to imply that SEYE is at a stage further than SEE which has only managed to get into a RAAF simulator (only?) leads me to ponder when great PR becomes misrepresentation.
Anyway, enough of the false and unneeded comparision, just issue the Aviation licencing deal(s), SEE, the sooner the better!
