There will be rogue's in most levels of the Company as with society generally. How much these events were due to personal agenda or specific instructions who knows.
But it suits the CWU and elements of the workforce to cast doubt wherever possible. Hasn't that been the case with previous strike action. I cannot understand the mindset which says "I'm an employee do things my way" I would never work for anyone unless I was happy to do so. However have never left a Company on bad terms.

If an Employer judges a requested pay increase to be not economically viable he should not sanction it. If as a consequence of this strikes are called, he then has to make various decisions some of which could affect the USO.
How on Earth is he to avoid this without putting the Company in financial jeopardy?
Likewise how does fining the Company improve the situation. I assume this fine makes its way into the coffers of OFCOM. If that's the case they have a vested interest.

I won't profess to be a bean counter and of course stand to be corrected. However my understanding is that Tesco have increased the rate to circa 10.90 per hour slightly more in London.
Are posties not on circa 13.00 per hour and looking for an increase?

Agreed, no cause for concern here from a shareholder perspective. CWU members here however are being led by the nose. It's a shame to see decent hardworking people being used as pawns but how else will DW earn his crust.
