If RMG has any chance of a decent future. Ditch the CWU and the old habits. Change is needed and that's what the Board have in mind.

Agreed but with the stock improving 8% over the past week, best not to delay. Although it's still down 17.5% over past six months.

Phunt73. Your post was very interesting, reminded me how much you bring to the forum no wonder its been lacklustre. So envious also that you went to another country, again how interesting. I note that you have nominated me as joint bottom of the popularity poll, which presumably you deduced by meticulous means.
I would hope my score is lower than AngerSharkz? After all if I'm going to be competing with others being worst is an achievement second worst is failure.
As you mentioned your exciting trip. I hope you are going to provide details of your adventures.

You have shown your character in many ways. No need to waste more time on your type.

A grown man in full time employment to accept food in charity is in my mind quite despicable not humble. Their are countless many in genuine need.

You make your own choices in life. Your happy to be perceived as a charity case, your choice.

The coming days will be interesting JB. No doubt in my mind the past months of IA will not deter the Company from its chosen course.

Let's be honest though "I've only got a few years left to go" has been said here so many times. It's obvious that a high percentage cannot wait to leave. What a way to pass your working life.

Not difficult to understand the damage done though. Imagine 30 or so years spent within an organisation where your sole purpose is to fiddle the system. Mind boggling!

Beet. Let's hope the Board remember, the shareholders own GLS also. No cross financing means nothing for posties that are striking unless of course they are also shareholders. In which case no reason why the "no dividend" statement should include monies earned by the GLS WORKERS!

Beet, your points are valid. However I cannot see a situation now where everyone can forget whats gone before. Fact is the CWU acting on behalf of those that took strike action, have done their utmost to force the Board into capitulation. I believe this to be a grave error in judgement and to the detriment of the workforce.
Should there be another ballot, the sensible thing would be to dampen down the rhetoric and see what can be achieved by working with the Company and its future plans.

Agreed this board is a mixed bunch Beetroot which encompasses owners, posties and others. Some of us may not immediately grasp the nuances of delivering post.
However there are those who have risen to senior levels in their chosen field and bring other qualities to the table. this "mixed bunch" is a useful Barometer during current times.
Posties here sometimes have a very strange approach to their current employment seemingly believing they are irreplaceable.
They may well be the very same individuals that have benefitted from RMG systems and lax management that have allowed them to play the system to their financial advantage and therefore to the detriment of the Company.
The same individuals who are now taking strike action in order to thwart management in their quest to rectify the wrongs of the past and go forward a stronger more efficient and profitable Company.

Agreed Merlwood. It would seem management are backed into a corner after strike days. They can't magic up spare space and to swap the older for the newer before dealing with the older would take longer. So to deal with the newer first ensures more is processed.
It's not surprising to hear "it's management's fault" but the public know its the posties that are creating the problem.
