Gentlemen, I understand that pay negotiations are a bit tricky. Be honest does anyone part with their money willingly. Do we go into a car showroom and hand over cash without a haggle?
Of course the management are due some criticism as are an element of the general workforce. But I don't suppose the general public want Royal Mail back.
Common sense needs to prevail here and seems there isn't much being used.

The method of creating a title that refers to the content is my preference. What is the point of adding comments to a title that bears no resemblance to the content "charlie 156" for example particularly when Charlie changed titles during the conversation. The very thing he was castigating STD for??
We know that discussions often get snarled up with off topic or offensive comments, far better to be able to avoid those.
It's preferable to be able to scroll back through content listing only the title you select.

Judging by news headlines today I don't think the general public are on board with the current strikes.

The EU has its own problems, countless Companies reducing staff with redundancies affecting between 5% - 14%.
The solution to loss making is complex but striking is not the answer.

I would imagine that crossing a picket line would be physiologically difficult for some. Whereas cancelling a union membership is presumably a private action.
Easy enough decision though. Those that totally agree with the CWU approach need do nothing differently. Others need to show their dissatisfaction.
One thing for sure though, these decisions have the possibility to be life changing.

Any postie that believes the CWU have their interest first and foremost is deluded. Surely it's obvious to the most ardent disciples that the CWU are motivated by their own interests.

That may be but I find your conclusions to be largely in line with my own.
The work force are represented by the CWU but they don't need to follow blindly. In my opinion they should ignore further calls for strike action which will bring about the cessation of talks.

This despite the fact that the Company have stated that further strike action closes the door on further discussions.
There is brinkmanship and stupidity now is the time for workers to decide which is in play currently.
Have to agree with Maxi, the Company needs to resolve this now. This cannot be an ongoing situation.

Good Morning PP. I did say "uncooperative" meaning the sackings could be selective. The blacklist could be created quite easily I'm sure. However I am unsure whether the Company would be required to make it "all or nothing" presumably the criteria would not allow them to use striking as a reason for dismissal while allowing other strikers to remain?
Thank goodness things have moved on from the days when the Unions seemed to be running the Country.

Sacking posties who now take strike action would seem an ideal way of reducing the "uncooperative" element.
