Your feelings are understandable, to me at any rate. - In a recent twitter exchange between Sawiris and Centamin mine manager ElRaghy, Sawiris accused ElRaghy of running Centamin in the interests only of himself and his family. - I think that's a fair comment. - They have become habitually a company that fails to meet guidance, 3 years in a row now. - This failure is recognised by the industry and it's leading commentators as a 'Huge Red Flag'. - Warnings are issued to avoid such companies. - Habit's usually, are hard to break. - Shareholders are not important in this company, only the ElRaghys. - I can't see this changing any time soon.

I believe the 'Bullion banks' exposed short positions might have something to do with it. - They need the POG to drop precipitously to get of the hook. - Since they are in a position to control events with impunity and without fear of legal recriminations, they will take every opportunity. - IMO

Just one further point. - Today's announcement is effective immediately. - This may or may not be of consequence.

Your counter-argument, that Centamin may be the ones taking-over or whatever, has merit. - And of course as you say, could account for the new CEO appointment and his team. - It's also possible I suppose that the new CEO appointment is a carefully worked-out strategy relating to somebody like Barrick taking-over. - The first piece of the jigsaw as it were. The BofA appointment the second piece and so on and so forth. - Whatever it is, I suspect today's BofA announcement is a vital part of what is about to unfold.

With the appointment of BofA, who are M&A specialists, it would be easy to think that some sort of takeover is on the cards.

Otheres have already speculated, Tiger I think it was, speculating that Barrick could be a suitor. - The BofA appointment announced today strongly supports this viewpoint.. - IMO

A good question you've posed - My reading is that it depends on whether the dividend was canceled or just the payment of it. - If it was just the payment date, then I agree with Ghengis, qualifying shareholders at the date of declaration should receive the payment - In the circumstances it's a good question though. - Let us know the outcome please.

I must say events don't sit well with me. - It's all too pat, everything just slots-in, - Even the fact that they had to introduce next-years down-graded forecast at this stage. A revelation that played no small-part in today's fall. - It also means we'll take another massive hit when it is releaed officially in the new-year.- Same old-same old I'm afraid. - Orchestrated might be an apt description. - Time will tell. - I also notice how they've penned-in that improved production will appear in the second-half, H2, again next year when once again Q3 will become the truth Quarter. - The time they have to show their hand once again. - That moment in the last three years when the truth was revealed.

Interesting that they have made a forecast coverng next years production so early in the piece. - I've never known them do that, ever.

Soulssister. - You got me excited for a moment. - The directors will receive millions in freebies but they won't make personal skin-in-the-game committments anywhere near that level. - It would be a helluva vote of confidence if they were to. - Funnily enough, I believe it was highlighted at the recent 'Denver' conference that it was something that was lacking in the industry but something that needed addressing. - The idea being that management skin-in-the-game committment can make a big difference in attitudes towards running the company. - I'm inclined to agree with that point of view. - Centamin in recent years is a case in point I feel.
