Of course - each to their own. - In my book the extent of director purchase does not amount to serious skin-in-the-game committments. - If the purchases had been made any time before the usual Q3 collapse, director purchases, irrespective of the amount, would have been welcome news. - But, performed in this way is not good IMO. Mr Bond, yes it is a question of unrealistic forecasts I feel, made with the Q3 contingency in mind. - However, it's just my opinion, based upon my experiencewith this share.

I agree, the 15000 share does not represent a commitment but rather a gesture IMO. - The same thing happened last year or was it the year before, when there was shareholder outrage with an attempt to assuage the anger through the purchase of a few shares. - Pardey I think it was. - I can't remember the exact details, others may have better recollection. The rinse & repeat strategy has become a permanent feature of the Centamin model now. - Forecast a good year, load it towards the second half when Q3 becomes the acid-test, introduce the Q3 snake as a reason why it's not going to happen and in the blink of an eye we're knocked for six. - Three consecutive years now is too much of a coincidence. - I would say it's more like a planned strategy. - It'll happen again next year. It might be presented in a different way but it will just be a variation of the same theme. - IMO.- Meanwhile bonuses and freebies are the order of the day.

Hi Marmot - Re director/management sales. - There was suspicious, what looked like insider info selling last Thursday. What a shock there'll be if an RNS, yet to be issued, reveals that Centamin directors/management were amongst them.- I hope they weren't.

A precicipitous SP collapse has occured 3 years in a row now - 2018-2019-2020. resulting in a long climb-back each time to get back to where it should have been. It seems the snakes ar the controlling force. - In the knowledge of what now appears to be a built-in pattern, It may be worth considering a different investment approach here.

Agree Sotolo - Directors here usually do not partake other than freebies. - I'm interested as to whether there were any director freebie awarded sales in yesterday's insider offloading. - If there was, a future RNS will advise. - Although, there is usually a closed-period that applies either side of official announcements. - Does Q3 official disclosure count in this regard I wonder?

Well, based upon my experience here, I am of the opinion that what we have been fed today is not the truth. - IMO, a plausible reason had to be found to cover-up the continuing underlying mystery that has become the Centamin-Egyptian experience, to this end, the land-slip story fits the bill.-The truth will reveal itself in due course in what unfolds from here in connection with other events. As I say, all in my opinion. - Each to his own. - We could be in for a plunge into the abyss insofar as the SP is concerned. - There is a powerful political-dimension in play with Centamin, its not just the vagaries of market-forces. there has been for some time now. - The CC is sufficient evidence in itself. There are chess-moves in play involving carefully thought-out strategies going forward that are impossible for the ordinary investor to contemplate and way beyond understanding. IMO

Good summary. - My reservation is with the timing and motivation behind this announcement. - Also, it's clear by yesterdays mysterious fall-off in the SP that insider information was in play. - It'll be interesting to look-out for any management sales of shares during this period. - An RNS will have to be issued if there has been.

I was thinking the recent new-permit news and possibly something related to W. Africa, or, as was the case last year with Pardey, a take-over in the offing. - Cluthching at straws maybe in my frustration.

Q3 is usually the confirmation quarter. - It is the quarter that indicates the likelihood of making forecast or otherwise. - It's the qtr that exposes the truth or the bull****. - When forecats are weighted towards back-end production, Q3 becomes the litmus-test. - This year it was slightly different in that H1 had set us on a good course where steady as she goes would be sufficient to meet targets. - But, as always with Centamin, there was a catch. - Wouldn't you know it! - For me a clear-pattern is emerging. - There is one other wishful thinking scenario, the SP is being trashed as an accomodation for insiders to take advantage of in the knowledge of some spectactular good-news that is in the pipe-line. - I wish. :-)

Hi Prof. - Not sure yet. - In the same way as we couldn't understand Pardey's actions last year. - They didn't make sense at the time and to a man we were baffled. - Shortly afterwards, it all made sense. -

On another note, also contained in today's RNS, details of Youseff's timely sale of shares at £2.11.

Looking back, the same thing happened last year at the same time. - The end of Q3. - The Pardey intervention kicked-in then and now this! - Coincidence or what? - Draw your own conclusions. - It's looking like a re-run in my book.

This is the biggest snake yet. - I wonder if there will be any news released with regards to their new-permit applications in an attempt to mitigate bad-news flow. - Are we seeing a deliberate attempt to trash the SP the same as happened last year. - So many questions running through my mind. - In which case, is there a requirement to create a buying opportunity for insiders with knowledge not possessed by the likes of us? - So many scenarios to consider, especially given that it is Centamin we are talking about and the history that goes with them.

An example of what single-mine-dependency can do when there is a set-back. - Last year I was forecasting that there would be a manufactured mine-incident in order to create a plausible excuse to cover-up the lies that were being fed to investors. A get-out-of-jail card if you will. - I've been expecting it for some time. - If you can be arsed, read through some of my old-postings. - However, it's no consolation. - Frankly, I have very serious doubts as to the veracity of this latest news.

If I'm understanding correctly, I may not be, at first glance, 0.80g/t makes it look non-viable. - Bearing in mind that Centamin open-pit grades were around 0.50g/t for most of this year. - I'm thinking there will have to be exceptional grades or, as Mr Bond suggested, volume is all that counts.

One possibility: - Insiders with knowledge of impending news.
