I reckon we are just seeing cause and effect.
The cause is brilliant science. The effect is delayed as pharma are taken by surprise.
They really thought that the major advances would come from TCR engineering, Car_T and MNRA. This is where they have apparently invested their research bucks.
Now we see Lindy with her unwavering conviction that vaccines have a role to play. There is just a need to induce a powerful enough immune response. Flashes of brilliance were needed as the seeds for each 3 of the platforms.

When Einstein developed his famous equation E = mc squared, not many people really believed this. Energy can be converted into mass and vice versa. But particle experiments in the late 20th and 21st centuries have proved that he was right.
The good news is that it is far easier to prove Lindy's concepts that having to resort to hugely expensive particle accelerators. At least we hope so :-)

The £8 is actually a place holder for whatever figure you want to replace it with using your own calculations based on how good you perceive the science to be, how big the markets are, and all balanced with the risks.
No doubt inan did some back of a fag packet calculation at some point in the distant past and came up with £8. There is absolutely no point in getting fixated with that particular figure now when things have moved on both with placings and new products/platforms, new investors etc.
To me, it is an impossible calculation.
Lets say Modi1 shows high efficacy in all 4 indications. What price then?
So much better to research inan's and burble's posts and come to your own conclusions.

It's just an impression I get, but I think Lindy would hate to work for a big pharma and be told what to do.
Wasn't it RG who referred to her as a free spirit. This I take to mean that she decides where her science takes her.
I'm taken back to a post that crumbs made about a meeting at Genentech where Ira Mellman was told by an executive that "you develop a cancer vaccine over my dead body" or words to that effect. I can't see Lindy wanting to ever be in that sort of situation.

I guess little is known to the world in general about the Scancell vaccine.
It is not yet pre-clinical and the only information in the public domain is the RNS announcing the vaccine and what is on Scancell's website and the website of Nottingham Uni. This is apart from features like the Sky news piece.
Understandably, it is not getting the same publicity that the front runners already in trials are getting. This is despite the growing weight of evidence about the importance of TCells and also the N protein as a target.
Lindy publishing mouse data may start to give it more attention.

But am I right in saying that it looks very much like that the N protein does not mutate at all. This would make it common across strains of a particular coronavirus and in addition it also appears to be common across the different types of coronavirus.

Right at the start of the SCLP Covid19 project Lindy said her aim was to target both the N and the S proteins as well as creating neutralising antibodies.
She stated then that she believed the N protein to have a common structure across all coronaviruses. Recent research including that highlighted by Bermuda are confirming this to be the case. Its not unusual for Lindy to be ahead of the game.

IMAB seem to specialise in Mabs and Bi-specific antibodies.

We do know we have a Chinese collaborator on glycans and Avidimab. Not saying this is imab, just a possibility.

I may be wrong but I think Burble did say that producing DNA vaccines is easier and less costly than other types of vaccine.
Also there is the possibility that the AZN manufacturing facility may be adapted to Scancell's vaccine if the Oxford vaccine proves not to be effective. What exactly is involved in this adaptation, I am not clear on. I would have thought the infrastructure is similar in that a large "clean" space is required but the equipment to manufacture the vaccine would be different and maybe there are some common components such as filling the vaccine vials.

I know of 2 VAL consolidations, each 1-125. I think there may have been a 3rd way back.
Now here's some maths, 125 squared is 15,625. So £1 invested before the first consolidation is now worth 0.0064 of 1 penny.

No doubt there are still major discoveries to be made in the area of T Cells. The potential does seem to be there to give powerful responses.

Yes, it's interesting that someone else is thinking along the same lines as Lindy as far as targets are concerned. I wonder if he has a platform as versatile and powerful as immunobody.

Put yourself in CH's position. Share options pose much less risk than buying on the open market. I know what I would go for in his position.
To a certain extent his fortunes are in his own hands. If he pulls off 1 or more deals he is quids in. If he fails he still may be quids in as trial data starts flowing and it is good data. If everything fails, he has lost nothing. It's really a no brainer.

This article gives us some indication of what milestone payments to expect and when. The trend seems to be for increasing milestone payments. I can also see that the milestone payments may start appearing sooner rather than later. This all assumes that milestones will be reached of course.
