The same is true of Seneca, very illiquid.
I only bought a few, it must be about 8 years ago and have earned more in dividends than the shares are worth now.
I am just hanging on for the future dividends but it has not really been a good investment.

I looked at Hygea (now Seneca) against SCLP a number of years ago and I bought some Hygea since at that time Hygea could be bought in an ISA whereas SCLP couldn't.
It would be interesting to know the discount to NAV that OXT is now at. I notice the price has actually fallen a bit over the last 3 months.

Personally I am impressed at Scancell's ability to overcome problems.

The modi1 addition of amplivant and the resultant manufacturing problems is one example.
Another is the loss of glycans mabs killing ability when humanised.

But Scancell are not a big pharma.
Firstly, the rate of progress is limited by the sizes of the research and development teams.
Secondly, Scancell having a trial failure would set them back years, so Lindy makes sure that each trial has the best possible chance of succeeding.

The likes of BionTech can have a failure (e.g. the recent personalised MNRA trial) and the PR machine kicks in to limit the damage, the message becomes "Progress has been made"
So, they throw huge amounts of money at research and development since the stakes are so very high.

I'm not sure Lindy talked about this in her talk but there seems to be a definite link between citrullination and autoimmune diseases such as RA.

I think this is what started Lindy off on this particular line of research.
She has discovered that citrullination is also very common in cancer. many different types in fact.
That is why the modi1 trial could be a game changer.
She also has Ugur Sahin (CEO of BionTech) interested in moditope and a collaboration between BionTech and Scancell has now been going on for over 2 years.

Let's hope Lindy's optimism leads to great Modi1 trial results.

And in particular we have the patents for Citrullinated and Homocitrullinated epitopes for the treatment of cancer.

Just to clarify that citrullination is a very small chemical change to a protein as is homocitrullination.
These tiny changes Lindy has managed to successfully target in mouse experiments. But not only that, she has found that moditope activates a type of T Cell that, so far, in experiments has proved to be more potent than the normal CD8 cytotoxic/CD4 helper combination.
Inan was talking this morning about the experiments that Lindy has also performed on human blood to strongly support the evidence that we are going to get an immune response in humans in the upcoming Modi1 trial.
Of course, we won't know for sure until trial data is published.
The point is that these epitopes are very common in a wide range of cancers. Lindy has chosen 4 hard to treat cancers for this trial.

Yes, I know what you mean AB. I too am glad that Burble has decided to post frequently.
But looking back there have always been arguments on this board and I suspect there always will be.
Over time you develop the ability to filter out the rubbish and research the good stuff.
I also find the arguments quite amusing at times.
