I think best model is all revenue streams, own buy, wholesale and own buy wholesale , scalability comez in many forms, BH now has the brands to scale that they never had before, if you mean these are the platform , then great. 500 stores is def a bad idea, never said that unless i was drunk !!
BH is a different company they need to change, yday we had enquiry from KM for 100pcs , this model will not work for them anymore , 100pcs if ut works repeat, they will be out of sizes befire it even hits tge DC , 300pcs 500pcs yes , they need to change there systems as all of a sudden they have a ton of brands ordering 100pcs on test and trial , where you gonna repeat all these brands Leicester??? Never gonna happen , the old Model got them where they are the this old Model wont work for the new BH. Also Splice the trade recognises this and totally gets it , they can see where there going with it and everyone likes it. This is shaking up the old guard, long over due, Asos is not part of that old guard, its been a distrupter to the HSt just like BH and BH have gone one step further and just taken half of that H St online, Simon Wolfson is a shrewd operator but hecwas out playes on this , should has seen it coming, he will be feeling very uncomfortable with this.

Soooo BH is no longer your old BH , its now and on line Department store , it is in direct competition with a 10.8 billion business Next and oncevthey get going i think will do a better job and impact far more on Next than Asos who are going in a diff direction to BH now.

Splice as i keep saying on here, BH have pivoted say good bye to competing in young fashion, yes there will be lap over but young fashion will becomeca much smaller percentage of turnover in L/T , they ard now going head to head with Next and Very , this is actually also where JL and AR also at there best, no more flexing alpha guy and glam girl , this is mass market demographic, the brands they now have out no. the brands they floated off by about 15 to 2.

Asos edges closer to Arcadia acquisition
Asos has requested Arcadia Group suppliers to “immediately” make further orders for the wholesale business, as administrators edge closer to sealing a deal, Drapers can reveal.

Earlier this week Asos confirmed it is in exclusive talks to buy Arcadia’s Topshop, Topman, Miss Selfridge and HIIT brands. The etailer currently stocks Topshop and Topman as third-party brands on its website.

A source close to the situation said Asos is trying to ensure continuity of supply, and that a deal is in the "last knockings". It is understood the sale could go through today, or at the start of next week.

A letter sent to Arcadia suppliers yesterday, seen by Drapers, reads: “Thank you again for your patience throughout this administration process. As has been widely reported, we understand the administrators are close to agreeing a sale of Topshop and Topman and other Arcadia brands to Asos. The potential buyers have requested that we immediately proceed to make further orders for our wholesale business. We are discussing these new orders with you now to ensure we minimise any disruption for our wholesale partners.”

In the letter, Arcadia Group asked suppliers to confirm that orders will be ready and booked to ship by 31 July 2021. It also asked them to confirm if they are willing to supply to the new business and will be willing to transfer any existing purchase orders to the new company.

It continued: “Should the deal with Asos not complete then the administrators have confirmed they will honour these new orders, in the way to previous orders made.

“If the deal does complete as hoped and expected you may be asked for PO’s which have already been raised for previous orders to be switched from administrators to Asos to assist with shipping and customers and to ensure a smooth transition of ownership. We would be grateful for your support on this process. Both us and Asos will be in touch once we have confirmation on the sale process.”

It follows Next dropping out of the bidding race for Arcadia's brands last week. Remaining interested parties include Boohoo Group- which has confirmed it is in exclusive talks to buy Dorothy Perkins, Wallis and Burton; Chinese etailer Shein, Frasers Group, and the US owner of Forever 21 and Barneys, Authentic Brands Group, which is said to be in talks with JD Sports Fashion about making a joint bid for Topshop.

Arcadia Group appointed auditing firm Deloitte as administrator on 30 November, blaming Covid-19 for “severely impacting” the business.

At the time of administration, Arcadia Group had around 444 leased stores in the UK and 22 overseas across the brand portfolio. The group has since announced that it will close 31 stores. Deloitte declined to give a break down of up-to-date store figures, or an individual breakdown of branded stores.

@ dannyred Asos over paying and boo underpaying is the narrative I can see be played out in the next month . I can see that being very positive for the share price .

What will be crucial to the share price is how BH and Asos turn the investments into value and make sure they are not just vanity projects. Asos can bolt on TS/TM at flick of a switch, already doing so, we are starting to see orders transferred onto there system, which is one of the newest and quickest out there, can't tell you how important it is to just get a purchase order quickly as it kick starts everything, back office is vital and you'd be surprised how hard it can be just to get a purchase order from some companies due to antiquated methods. BH biggest problem is going to be getting all these brands up and firing an all cylinders , they are going to need people and systems, i've not been that impressed with the BH London Brands so far, very sluggish out of the starting blocks. Asos will hit the ground running and very fast, for BH they have one hell of a lot of stuff to sort out before even putting there running shoes on, that said paying what they have means a lot less pressure but at some point they really need to start motoring to get that value into the share.

dannyred -Nope def not, Asos won't entertain it and i doubt BH would, TS already on Very and do really well on there, question is whether Asos Wholesale the TS/TM in UK at all let alone on Debs,

Splice yep, i think up to 250m is fair do's , 250m to 300m mmmm ok, over 300m errrr taking the p*ss a bit. Asos already sell thousands of pieces a year on TS/TM/Miss S and pay a premium at wholesale cost, now they will negotiate directly (the factory) minimum 20% saving on the prices they were paying from Arcadia. Asos does not wholesale there own Brand, will be very interesting to see if they still wholesale TS/TM/Miss S to likes of Zalando and Nordstrom in US. I u/s in separate talks with landlord over Ox Circus store , i think this is a must for them. 78 million people entered or exited Ox Circ tube in 2019 and 500,000 people walk up and down Ox Street every day (not at mo tho!!), the Advertising that this store gives must be hard to put a price on.

Just had a call from Drapers (Bella) looks like they are about to run an article about what i mentioned last night, basically Topshop is informing all suppliers that their contracts will be raised on Asos system so if this isn't a done deal then i don't know what is.
