It did same in Atlanta but had issues with staff keeping up with demand and shares suffered, again growing company, just when it does land on a snake its a small one.

Splice sorry what i didn't mention is that Asos has just launched TGR, BH will get there but journey is just starting, they will need one back office system for all their Brands otherwise it will be and currently is very disjointed.

Splice thanks for the question, actually i could rack up 2 hours or more on this subject so i'll give one easy example already touched upon, a Denim Fitted Stretch Dress we do can take 3 attempts and even 4 to get fitted and ready for production, this requires courier 7-10 days x 3 (or 4) =30 days , cost courier £30 ish x 3 (or4)=£90, you have to get timing right for courier arrival and fit model, not always poss so this can add another 10 days , cost of model say £150-200 for day (she trys on lots of other styles), Garment Tech's and assistants time, this is one style, multiply this across Mens, Womens, Kids and 1000's of styles !!!!!! you may still have to do 3 sealers but these can be made and fitted in a week, no more couriers and trying to get fit model in, you've saved one month and a substantial costs, as Pmoran said systems going to be more about AI and are about to make a very big impact on back office.

PP1 -No issue your opinion, i have a contrasting one perhaps because i see behind the scenes what few on here do, Asos TGR initiative is ground breaking, at the forefront of anything else i've seen, i watched a 22 people 2 hr presentation yday so i guess not surprising i don;t agree and its forward looking not backwards, they have perhaps made the mistakes and do best ensuring they see whats around the bend.
BH just getting started, after the purchase everything has changed, its what was needed for them a much bigger demo in spades , but they have just taken a huge bit out the cake, of course they can take there time but the City is watching and this is not make 300pcs of a dress in Leics anymore its a whole new ball game that requires arguably more back office systems than front office.

Just to add this is why for BH which is growing you have to be prepared to play snakes and ladders, one slip and down you go, the systems wont be glitch free and if you track the Asos share price you will see that it's tracked these glitches high and lows, but with it comes learning , hence the investment. The niggles in the back of your mind for BH are not just TCM's stray carton, it will also be back office systems, for whatever reason you hit a snake with BH and it always ends up being a F***** big one, and when start again and you throw the dice its never a 6 always a bloody 1 , patience is required for the task ahead.

An interesting tech perspective for TGR initiative which was launched yday with us, i'm sure there will be glitches but with BH we are yet to hear anything, i'm sure it will happen but they have alot on there plate, just getting a purchase order at mo is sluggish.

Webba 1 all the buying teams and management are intact at Burtons, DP's and Wallis , not sure re compatible systems, unlike the Asos Topshop Deal which was bringing over a Wholesale Brand where it easy to pull over the systems as they already were linked the Burtons, DP's Wallis was in Debs on a concession basis (aka Market Place commission model but for retail) obvs deal not done yet , surely we must hear something over w/e !
Existing Debs Brands need to be dusted off and kick started, buying teams not intact, various CVAs, 2 Admins and liquidation put paid to that, big recruitment drive needed, esp buying merchandising and management, in fact all areas!

Mudis again 100% correct, Asos, Next, Very already there, long term BH will get there but they have just taken on a massive commitment with no structure (Debs back office has been destroyed with little or no investment) any where near the likes of Asos, Next who are older and more mature so are so much further on the journey, big task for BH, now with the Big Boys and they have to fight on all fronts and get people and systems in to do it, what they do have now is the Brands to build but its a long journey.

@PM interesting you mention AI , biggest change we are seeing is not front end which in effect is just another shop window but the back office.
Traditionally in this business all retailers request you send actual garments for sealing , the garment techs would fit and pattern would be produced from bulk production cut. Yesterday we were told that a 3D on line system would replace this and a link would generate an automatic pattern on out Gerber (pattern laying) system, so no more couriers with garments , no more models needed to fit on, PLUS speed to market is massively reduced. So biggest changes we are seeing is back office the ones that are not actually visible, AI is going to have a huge impact on so many areas of our industry and most the customer wont even be aware of.
