RE: Tenders3 Aug 2020 11:46
Brent before i get carried away patting self on back can you share your reasoning for thinking Novacyt could have made the mad move not to tender for £5b pie given they previously won £75m bid?
I too have significant experience leading 9 figure government procurements, working in IT procurement for 13 years. I was a rarity in gov and excellent at my job saving us £30m+ and significantly improving my pruduct through use of basic mean average scoring mechanisms that encouraged price competition, knowing my tec and actually going a **** (amazing how nieve gov commercial resources are).
As to timeliness these things can take an age, I've spent 2 months reviewing tenders and 6 months negotiating fine print within Competitive Dialogue Tender. These things take time, Gov maybe waiting on more data from Mobile trial before ordering a heap of them. Award will happen, its just a matter of scale imo
PS please share your musings Brent, i feel you are wide of the mark. Happy to be corrected
