Here's a second version of CDX summary not written by a dyslexia lol
https://twitter.com/DopeinkInvest/status/1297352456205107201?s=19
CDX is one of a portfolio of products. They've also got CAR-T cells (taking to phase 1 trails with CAR-T pioneer's Penn State), Hu-PHEC stem cell therapy and their secret weapon, commercialised humanised mice. These mice significantly improve the efficacy of pre-clinical projects and an be used as factories to generate antibodies for conditions of the immune system.
Oops i completely forgot about COVID. It's just the antibody treatment, vaccine (via orgenesis) with the mice playing a mighty role and novel test in discovery phase for purpose of dev differentiating those who will develop sever response to COVID and those with mild expected outcomes. This will be key for getting the most vulnerable fast and appropriate treatment.
Personally I'm not lingering on the test or vaccine. Am optimistic over antibody treatment and supply of mice to others for COVID testing.
As we know we are awaiting Eli Lilly to sign an exclusive deal for Hemogenyx's blood conditioning drug CDX which was originally designed to provide a safer way to condition (remove toxicity) AML sufferers blood prior to bone marrow transplants. This would remove the need for Chemotherapy which 60% of sufferers are too ill to undergo and is an horid treatment to undergo.
Subsequently they discovered CDX can be used to actually destroy the cancer. Both purposes of CDX have been successfully tested on Hemo's mice and and by Eli Lilly.
In 2015's IPO prospects Hemo estimated US and UK market for conditioning bone marrow patients at $3.7b. You can add on a decent chunk to that for treating it, i suspect I'll blush at this figure.
This all sounds lovely and it is.
Hemo's CDX has one further trick up it's sleave. The conditioning for removing toxicity in blood. Well it turns out CDX can be used with other approved complementary
treatments to reduce their toxic affects. Great stuff :-)
And the kicker, it may be used to resuscitate field drugs out of the trails bin which have failed clinical trails due to high toxicity levels.
So we will soon sign a contract with Eli Lilly for primary purpose of treating AML.
But you can count on it they will have a computer AI trawling their failed trails for treatments that can become viable if used in conjuction with CDX. I would imagine they will also troll failed trails of their competitors and those of failing pharma companies. Imagine the offer, so your trail failed and your drug is junk. Would you like to sell it to Eli Lilly or throw it in the bin.
Yup CDX is a gateway drug
"The Directors believe that the potential to use CDX antibodies to improve the performance of existing drugs without any risk of a negative impact on treatment outcomes would be very attractive to major pharmaceutical companies. Consequently, the Company has filed a provisional patent application covering the composition matter of additional clones of CDX antibodies and their combination with a wide class of novel compounds that are currently undergoing clinical development by a number of other companies. The purpose is to create a new paradigm of combination treatment for patients with AML and possibly other types of blood cancers. The Company is in exploratory talks with a number of potential pharmaceutical partners about these opportunities"
Rich Ken i know of a pip squeek company who are working on such a test to differentiate those susceptible to serious and mild COVID symptoms.
Project underway to develop test to identify COVID patient risk profiles, enabling most appropriate clinical management
"If successful cytokine test will be commercialised"

CautiousOptimist i like the idea of some type of reward scheme for a Postive test. Personally i feel persons should have income covered and those on benefits given a top up to cover extra costs of being house bound such as on line delivery and as incentive. Will be a life and money saver in the long run
LuckyLuciano are Nova listening in on you lol

Just restored my holding after a short unsuccessful flip over to Novacyt, sadly was no sales update and ended up 10% down!! Oh well, Vlad will rectify that soon enough.
I clarified my point, using pre|CISION to reduce toxicity of Chemo. Also stated not an issue exclusive to them. We'll have to find out how much pre|CISION reduces toxicity when they report on phase 1 trails
They are using Chemo along with pre|CISION therapy to reduce toxicity of Affimers
I did :-) ps this isn't exclusive to Avacta, but is worth bearing in mind the risk associated with progression from preclinical trails to phase one. They could have done with using Hemogenyx CDX blood conditioning therapy which reduces toxicity or use their Humanised mice for testing :-)
They have a tumor therapy using their Affimers which have been validated on mice.
Avacta admit their drug can cause "serious side effects" so they need to use Chemotherapy along with pre|CISION treatment to reduce issues. Avacta's 2 primary treatments Affimers and pre|CISION were sourced via acquisition and exclusive licence, so no internal brain power used for base of business.

woodaldo top comment. May i expand on point 2.
With winter flue infecting up to 20% of population a multiplex test will give an accurate test.
Those with flue taking a COVID specific test will come back negative, subject then has choice to give it 3 days or so and retake test or follow up with a multiplex flue/COVID test.
PCR test £150, we don't know cost of Avacta test,. It looks likely test will need to be done under the supervision and in clean environment which will add to costs. No way Avacta test is £10, my wag initial cost around £50 to £60.
Does anyone have any pricing info on Lateral Flow Tests?
"AstraZeneca is using all three potential sources for antibodies (i.e., in vitro libraries, patient B cells, immunized humanized mice), with the spike protein on the SARS-CoV-2 virus as the primary target being explored. AstraZeneca is aiming for clinical evaluation in July-September 2020"

Bungle we don't know its Novacyt, we do know its PCR and the same "protocols as the NHS uses for home swab tests"

Test processing costs will dramatically fall once saliva pool sampling is automated in Lighthouse labs.
Family of 4:
Single tests - 4 x £150 = £600
Pooled tests - 4 x £15 + £135 = £195 (£48.80 per person)
Wonder how long for Nova announcement, maybe their batching them up lol
Balanced i can't recall the source or test, but have seen a test in States has been delayed over admission of test. Little benefit testing if data is not accurately recorded and fed into the larger network of track and trace!
Senario, book a flight, take a self administered test feeling well. Do you buy another cheap test and ask a friend or loose money on the flight?
A ******** move but about third of population are selfish pricks
Heathrow, collison and swiss passport = PCR test, yup

LL Novacyt secured supplies for 18m tests early on. No doubt they have been topping up the store room along the way with all that cash and early supply chain connections
Han**** referred to two recently awarded contracts, Nanopore and DnaNudge, please refer to 10Guitars (nice handle) post Huffpost article.
DnaNudge 15 tests a day, Nanopore LAMP test no safe way to extract RNS. Neither company has a rich history, not much of a history at all.
Issues with Nanopore LAMP test do not exist with Novacyt backed LAMP trail with Basingstoke hospital and Optigene.
Also observed Han**** referring to a 10 min test for Haethrow, but Heathrow are looking to implement test with a 7 hr turn around, swab to result. I'm not saying this is Nova. It certainly isn't Avacta.
Saliva was spoken of in the general, but mostly in reference to 10 min test, being Avacta. Production will ramp through to the end of the year, whatever that means.
Worth pondering cost of testing once we introduce pooling multiple samples into one vile. Have read from America this will reduce testing processing cost by x5 to x10 depending on number swabs in vile.
5 x £150 = £750
5 x £15 + £135 = £210
10 x £15 + £135 = £1,500
10 x £15 + £135 = £285
