Listened to the worst form of deramping on the kaz bb for ages designed to make folk sell at under a quid rather than eight times that amount which it later achieved. Not saying we are comparing like with like but nor is anybody else posting here talking about Odey and the banks and his glories in the distant past. Local councils need business rates so I am not sure what they can do to revive High streets but central government needs to tax all retailers in the same manner. On line shopping nice and convenient at times but I am living with a fridge freezer which has less storage capacity than the last one through bad design. Should have viewed and bought in store is the lesson learned but not at somewhere pricey like House of Fraser. Have a good summer peeps.

I can buy shares in this but for some reason my broker is not allowing me to buy shares in the new company which is also apparently a ftse 250 company now so I will need to get in contact with them and ask for the reason. It is only the likes of House of Fraser stakeholders like Mike Ashley who can afford to shop in upmarket stores of that ilk. Nobody will miss the Edinburgh branch which is in the wrong shopping end of Princes Street and think it is the tourists rather than the natives who keep Jenners in the capital city and Loch Lomond going. Can't remember when I last even browsed in House of Frasers in Glasgow. Wolverhampton Zegga is probably like a lot of places and Beatties would have had to adapt and offer value for money to survive. I see M & S are earmarking town centre store closures in towns where they have more recently opened food only stores in out of town free parking areas in eg East Kilbride and Ayr. I don't know Wolverhampton but would suspect that the place is still alive enough to make the abolition of parking charges totally not feasible.. What could the council do to please you?. Hanging baskets? Suspect public hangings of thugs would draw more of a crowd.

The value of the demerged companies combined is down quite a bit on the price here immediately prior to the demerger yet the last update on profits was very rosy so wonder if this demerger has caused a few sellers to be taken advantage of. Time will tell.

Need to shut their stores as they are too up market in the current economic climate. Would expect the information flow is a tit for tat as it was claimed the shares where acquired from Sir Tom Hunter in a less than transparent manner with the then existing House of Fraser shareholders not getting offered the shares first. You can be sure they will be heaving a sight of relief now.

That's a massive fall in Odey's profits so you are only as good as your last investment so the saying goes. Certainly seemed to close his shorts in Kaz minerals at the right time before its steep ascent after dramatic falls so will be interesting to see if he can do likewise with debs. Have lost track of his investments in sports direct and they might not all be transparent anyway so wouldn't know if he is currently up or down there but would suspect down. Anyone?

Somebody should tell Oliver it's the pizza and pasta portions (and other stuff my old father-in-law will not touch on account of it being foreign food - well food being used euphemistically here) that have caused the nation's calorie count to rocket. I tried his pizza stone and it didn't remain non stick for very long and the egg making pasta machine kept falling off the work surface. Nigella maybe had better luck but had to put her ex on an egg diet lol. Of course, a good shift down pit is what most lardys these days need.

Not averse to making a few bob from endorsing pizza stone bakers and pizzas are not exactly low cal food and if you look at his recipes eg chocolate and salted caramel cakes one of which I posted on Irn Bru Barr site a couple of years ago then you realise how full of double standards some folk are. I'd rather see my calories listed in Wetherspoons than risk one of his Epic Tiramis�s . I like Greggs. They donated festive mince pies to church when I was an attender and they support Children in Need. They'll be back.

of a trading share for me this one and just got rid of at last for very slim pickings. One of the top recommended posters said it was a good trading share but didn't do the business for me and would have been better shoving it all in pfg even though it had a rights issue. Site seems to be maintaining this and a Standard Life bb as well at the moment. Good luck to anybody keeping for the divi including perhaps hubby but a bit of a cold fish for me insofar as the old trading goes.

Can I sum this up by saying quite simply that bricks and mortar retailers could only cast an envious eye at such a performance. Morning Velo, I remember you from the humble share price days at rr. when you were full of doubts even as to my gender as you didn't think I spoke like a "bladdy woman" I am not as unkind about Motley Fool as some and recognise that their Janus like output reflects that they employ different writers with different views about the same companies. However, I did find an even more benign article on a rival platform so didn't have far to look. ATB

�9 was a good price but I waited to �9.60 and out just under �10 as it didn't hold. Sorry for the long term holders here but you'll find a lot of dead cat bounces along the way like my pfg and hopefully get back on an even keel..

I had these before Christmas and did okay with them. This kind of fall when the trading statement says trading in line with expectations is enough to give anybody a heart attack so could be good for business. Had a small punt as probably is overdone but think I quit while I'm ahead and move to something dead quiet .
